"it's easier for a man to destroy the light inside him than to defeat the darkness all around him",,, i heard this line in a movie tonight, called Nightwatch, , it's a russian horror film . . pretty cool film actually, , but i'm not sure how i feel about this line. . .. . at first i dug it, , could relate to the laziness of it, , but then i got thinking a little more (had a few beer in me, , and a touch of the happy smoke, , hard day at work, ,not too keen on the thinkin' aspect of things tonight, , but this got me to thinkin 'bout why did i like this line so much, , and methinks it's cuz it's such and easily acceptable way of dealing with things, , just , ,well, fuck it, right, ,, , fuck yrself and who cares about anything else right? ? well really, , i think it takes little effort at all to defeat the darkness around you. . it's rather incredible how dramatically a little smile and a positive attitude can shudder the buzzkillers around you. . . as opposed to the self-interrogation involved with destroying any good or happiness inside of you. . .. ..you have to own up to it, , create bullshit reasons for being a weak little fuck, come up with phony justifications for deciding to cash in what hope you had left , , when really the hope exists by itself, , the goodnes just IS, for fuck's sakes. . . and you have some heavy explaining to do if you think it really is easier to just say "screw it, , it's all fucked anyway", cuz really, the darkness all around you is weak, , , and depends solely on sorry excuses, and can be defeated with things as easy as kind thoughts and the simplest hopes and smiles. a couple lame-ass jokes can kill the most horrifying thoughts!
