whats on your ipod?
I'm really quite fortunate and have a job where i can listen to music for a good 8 - 10 hours a day. I was recently given an ipod as a present, and quickly filled it to the capacity (only 2gb i have 22Gb on itunes) so this morning i had the same daily dilema "what do i put on it for today?" after the ususal suspects of; Nirvana, rancid, NOFX, the Wildhearts, Alice Cooper, nine black alps, foo fighters, Distillers, me first and the gimmie gimmies, Dropkick murphys, Flogging Molly etc i was left with space for one more record and had to choose between Husker Du, fugazi, Alice in chains or Stone temple pilots. On my stroll to work i started thinking about you guys and was curious what do you have on yours? what do you listen to on a daily basis? What was the last record you brought? What was the cd you put in your cd player and what was taken out?

I ALWAYS have my I-pod, I love it.
It's an 80 gig and it's got over 5000 songs and many hours of video on it. I have to rotate things on and off it, I need a 160 gig one!!

The past few days have been Greg Howe, Miles Davis, Beatles, John Scofield, Ozomotli, Disturbed, All Shall Perish, Dream Theater, Dave Holland Quintet, All That Remains....

hmmm
and I've been watching sea lab 2021, one of my favorite cartoons..
And I download Rachel Maddows free podcast every day..

I also have all of Davis Sedaris audio books and several other audio books that I rotate on and off my ipod depending on my mood. I listen to a lot of audio books while I work.

My ipod? Actually I use an MP3 player, and like The CODE, I have my Rehearsal LIVE Recording of latest stuff I've been workin' on, often. ALSO: Listen to a LOT of IAC artists EVERY day, but predominantly from the home base computer. Urr... a little too poor to pay for all 'a' y'all's downloads.... DOH !!!

It's weird, I pretty much only listen to oldies or MAINSTREAM music now, when OTHERS are playing it (work/home/gatherings/etc.)....

I do LOVE a good trip into the land of BRAN-NEW music & nostalgic old music on YOUTUBE also....

My MP3 player also has a BUNCH of collaborations & works by LOCAL Artists....
Sounds very strange to be listening almost exclusively to INDIE artists, when you have a CHOICE as to what to listen to, eh? BUT think about it you hear mainstream music everywhere you go, and in between the bands playing at your shows, and nights out on the town, ya know?

SO it actually makes damn good sense. Give the underdog a chance, I say.

And Jill, sorry to hear that you got pHLeGm on your Ipod. Not to worry, same thing happened to my son Justin's Ipod, and I found out a little baking soda & vinegar will get that nasty mucas right outta there. Your Ipod will again be shiny and clean, and completely unoffensive... teee heeee

Your phreakin' AWESOME, Jill !!!!

Thanks for the tip Phlegm, my iPod is now restored to its beautiful pink colour, much nicer than the green slime.

At the moment I also have on my iPod, Anjuli, the Doors, Papa George, Isle of Ewe, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Its a Beautiful Day, the Raconteurs, Last Shadow Puppets, Baaba Maal, Amadou & Moriam, Bert Janch, the Code, Man with no Band, Duffy, Adele, DirgeK, John Renbourne, John Lee Hooker, the Stones, Radiohead to mention just a few !

Although I've never owned one and don't care to own one, it is way too much cooler to be on one than I thought ... :)
