Thank you IAC
Friday 26th of June marked a very special day for me that i will never forget, (no not Jacko)
June 26th saw the release of my bands debut album 'Liquor in the front, poker round the back' and this is all down to the wonder of IAC.
A couple of years ago i stumbled across a random email from IAC and i thought "what the hell, lets post something up here", so i did. You see my band was going through a bit of a transition with members coming and going and new songs being recorded (we had just found a new writting power), so i thought i had nothing to lose. After maybe a week of posting our new songs we struck up a relationship with Kenny Colgate (the Wizard X), he understood our music, our motivation and our vision, he was currently working on an indie label Fashion Road Kill, he was growing increasingly frustrated with them and no longer liked the politics and work ethic of the label, so he created his own. And Romulus X Records was born. We quickly jumped at the chance of recording a record with him and despite many challenging obsticles (my death, 60% of the band quit days before the flight to the USA, track list slashed, songs being written on the plane) we are finally here and we have a product. Something that i am very proud of, and an experience i will never forget.
So to you Scott, Toby and everyone else who has put so much time and effort in to IAC i sincerelly thank you from the bottom of my heart. I read a question the other day asking if the "Indie dream was a myth?" the conversation quickly turned in to one of money etc blah blah blah..... I say Bollocks the indie dream is still alive and kicking because of places like IAC, IAC has a very vocal community with some powerful acts, and as long as there are sites like this where dreamers can post their music, even just for a couple of thousand people to hear, the indie dream is and will always be alive and kicking, as long as there is someone out there willing to dream. Thank you for giving me and many many others the opportunity to put our music out there, i know my music is not everyones cup of tea, but i also know some people out there will get it, and some one does. Thank you for giving me that chance, that little glimmer of hope, thank you for letting me meet Kenny Colgate, and subsequently thank you for being able to now hold a copy of my own record complete with shrink wrap and a bar code. We are fully aware that this would not of happened if i had not posted on IAC and we made sure you had a mention in our thank you credits. I know i got lucky, i know i'm not the greatest song writter in the world and i know there are a million better guitarists in the world who probably deserve this a lot more than i do , but because i posted what i posted on IAC, and found a lucky break, i'm gonna make the most of it. Thank you again IAC.
I would also like to thank a very special friend and mentor, Kenny Colgate a man whom i look up to in a similar way as i look up to my father, Kenny was the first person who got it, who understood us and was very vocal about it. I will only ever judge a person by what they have in side and Kenny has the purest of pure hearts, his enthusiasm, joy and belief in indie music is another reason the indie dream will never die. A very kind man who took me and my singer pop (two strangers) in to his own house for three weeks and introduced us to his own family like family (and an amazing family they are). The three weeks we had to record this album was the most intense and hardest things i have ever done, and by far the most rewarding. Thank you Kenny Colgate I love you (in a totally non gay way).
I would also like to thank PhLeGm, for his continual encouragement and belief in our music, this is extra special when you consider how much of a prolific talent he is, and how much of a good hearted nice guy he is.
So any way, thank you one and all.............................now go buy our album available on itunes, amazon and cd baby, or drop me an amail about hard copies productrecall@hotmail.com
Spread the love

Hey people, its pop here!
Ive never managed to reply to everyones kind words as i can never remember the login password, but as i was watching Pick of destiny it came to me!!!
So i wanna thank you all for so so many kind words i would love to say a lot more but i think school pretty much summed it up. I will say one thing though!!
Product recall came about as i believe through fate, its funny how things pan out 12 years ago school and my self were in my parents back garden doing green day and nirvana covers for my sisters 16th birhtday party, the man over the way got so pissed of he jumped over the fence and tried to strangle me!! That put me off ever singing for a couple of years at least.
But then a good few years later i was invited to a practice with some friends in Tweeters in Leatherhead. I almost didnt want to go at first because i was scared shitless of singing in a band even in front of friends! we practiced for a while, then one day we decided to do a nirvana cover and for the first time in my life i truley SCREAMED... That for me looking back changed my life forever. As cheesey and corny as it may sound it really really did.
To cut a long story short Product recall is some proof that you can swim through a tunnel of shit and still come out with a shine, if you put your mind to it! From a shed in leatherhead to headlining the roxy in oxford steet to recording in new york anything is possible!
i really want to thank you all for everything!
love pop x
p.s WE FUCKING LOVE YOU x
