Anyone else having problems exporting their KIAC Player?....
....
Quite a few IACers also have a presence on MySpace (can we NOT get into a slanging match about the pros and cons of MySpace please!) and export their KIAC Player and disable/hide their MS player.
However, MySpace has been screwing around with stuff and now their player supercedes the KIAC player.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions?
Thanks.

yes. After research, 'cause this same problem is on ALL myspace pages, SIMPLY don't upload any songs to the MYSPACE player.
It will say UNDEFINED, but that's NO loss!
We've got 36 tunes up on IAC now, and NO MYSPACE player can hold more than FOUR. SO use the KIAC player instead, in your "ABOUT" space on myspace.
Unfortunately, no way to remove the DUMMY place-holder myspace player, as it is now a "FEATURE" , automatically in place for ALL MYSPACE artists.
um.... I don't think I slammed anybody, and CLEARLY explained a good way to share IAC with the rest of the MYSPACE-happy world.... whoops... I mean..urrr..
ANYWAY. That's the situation, and the solution, if you wanna stream GREAT IAC originals by yourself/your BAND from Myspace.

....I don't use the MySpace player at all and so nothing has ever been on it - All my music gets heard via the KIAC player. I've reloaded the html code in the hope it will play once again - It can take a few hours to filter through.
I can't find any settings to stop the MySpace player from autoplaying whatever it has or not - I smell a conspiracy or policy but people will hack a workaround sooner or later I hope.
Thanks for the replies :)

I too noticed that MySpace has forced their shitty player onto my page whether it is used or not (why would I use that instead of the superior IAC player?!!)
I wish I could remove it and have my MySpace page the way it used to be. The MySpace player is sitting there taking up lots of space for no purpose. I have no songs on it. Grrrrr....

There is a panel on the Managege Featured Songs tab of the edit profile page which allows to to select or deslect autoplay or random selection.
How to remove the player completely I've no idea.
Myspace alters the iacplayer code that you embed in it's pages. So that external links are disabled. Which must mean they actually replace the swf file with a processed one somehow.

Red Robin apparently doesn't like us too much here. He only seems to blog when he wants to knowingly break the rules of the pipeline.
I'm going to leave this one up at least for a bit and hope he changes his ways soon. :D
My Space tries really hard to disable any code that complete with their merchants service (snocap?) which takes 1/3rd of the artists' profit off the top. We recommend that you place an html link on top or below your IAC player that will lead a listener here for music sales and such.
I went to My Space recently and was amazed to see that one of their advertisers is now some kind of security suite, the kind that gives you a microsoft popup that you can't get rid of without leaving the page, telling you that you need to do the special scan and then you hopefully buy their program.

I have that as well as the IAC player on my MySpace page Toby :-)
The IAC player still plays fine for me there. I just can't get rid of the crappy MySpace player.

Yes, I had encountered this a few days ago, but if I use a Station player instead of artist player, it has no problem playing. If you have your own station with your songs, try putting that player on Myspace profile instead. I'm not sure if this will work for you, but it worked for me.

....You misunderstand me, Toby - This blog isn't about a technical problem with the KIAC player, it's about finding out whether other IAC members are having the same problems and sharing info so we can help each other.
As for when I do and don't blog here - That's entirely up to me and my lifestyle's time and when suits me and not when it suits you. Comments like yours claiming I don't like you too much here, don't exactly encourage me.
So what Pipeline rule am I supposed to have broken? :)

This is a site issue and you know it. We've warned you about it before. You could've written support and gotten answers on this.

A site issue? With the MySpace site but not an issue with the KIAC site is it.
It's simply networking among other people who have encountered a similar problem in their efforst to use the KIAC player on MySpace. Why would you want to deny IAC members from communicating with each other on this subject?
Would you prefer I use the MySpace player instead of KIAC's? Wouldn't you prefer that we all use the KIAC player? That's all I'm trying to do - Get it back up and running and find out if the problem is generic or not.

hey...hey...hey....settle down y'all! I explained the fact that the MYSPACE player is now a built artist default, and you can choose to LOAD NO songs on it, and then put your KIAC player in the ABOUT section (as html) and it will stream ANY KIAC songs you have it set up for just fine.
\
That's was before all the concern about rule breaking on the first response to Red Robin's post. So please, take my advice if you want to stream IAC music from MYSPACE, or don't.
BUT no need to argue & fight. It's a legitimate question & desire to run IAC music from MYSPACE, I think. AND if it's NOT, well --- now y'all know the lovely workaround to promote your IAC tunes on myspace -- even WITH the now-built -in myspace player.
SHeesh! If ya had read that first post under Conversation Suicide, there'd be no need for the arguing & silliness. We were ON the issue, the minute the MYSPACE player become a forced default....
