Back on board here after a bit of a hiatus (e.g. busy with overseas visitors, work, writing lyrics for a co-writer's album, etc.)
Couldn't resist this good question. I definitely feel a buzz, but not at the point of inspiration (where it's more like a light being switched on). I get that absolute jolt when - after I've spent ages revising a lyric - it's reached a point where I absolutely know it's a 'keeper' and ready for the music. The feeling is entirely visceral, and it's been going on for years.
Does this count? :)

Well, when inspiration hits,
it's like a whole West Wing in my brain turns on,
powers up, and all of a sudden,
my brain is a music computer....
sorta.
don't know about a tingle but I do know everything sort of accelerates.

Interesting that you mention that, Stoneman! :)
I didn't want to use the analogy in my previous post, but whenever I get to that 'high' point at the end of a fruitful creative process, it feels like the female equivalent of what you've just written. LOL
("Cat on a hot tin roof" comes to mind. :) )
I wonder if anyone has ever made a study of the connection between the emotional/physical responses that come into play when one is in the state of inspiration and/or has reached its peak.
