Weddings are Amazing----------!
We are back after the most uplifting and colourful experience!!!
November 11 was the day of the Wedding!
November 10th we were setting up, when one of the kids heard distant screams from the mountain behind-----a search team was dispatched, and after cutting their way through the bush for an hour, they came across a badly injured pig hunter who had fallen over a 10 metre bluff , broken an arm and a leg, and severely damaged his head.
The groom to be, and a friend spent the next 2 hours with the victim, while the rescue helicopter arrived, and tried to get a line down the ravine to the creek where the hunter lay!
It was an extremely difficult task, as the wind was creating downdrafts which threatened to send the chopper into the treetops, finally they got a very long line down, and he was strapped to a stretcher and hauled up and off to Wellington Hospital and today we hear he is in stable condition--------------------! ------------we went back to our tasks------
Nov 11---
The themes were Armistace day, The anniversary of the Grandparents Wedding, , the Brides Birthday, and of course the Wedding---------------held on a beautiful beach, by the lapping tide-----
Every guest was dressed to a theme of their choice----- masks-- hats-- costumes-----even a guy with a pot on his head (pothead!)
The wine flowed-----Leo played classical guitar through the ceremony-------then we were served a huge feast in the wedding "Tent" a huge Marquee with bubbly flowing, speeches which had people rolling with laughter one moment, and crying the next-----Poetry, more songs Hallehlulia-------Leonard Cohen, Love Me Tender, Elvis, -------------
Then as the evening arrived, a bonfire on the beach, a massive fireworks display, while fire jugglers and dancers performed to the drum beats and rhythm guitars, of Silverwood!
Later we became wandering minstrels with 3 accoustic guitars serenading---------------and moving around different groups, who would respond by leaping around, or slow dancing by the waters edge-----------it was MAGICK!

I like weddings too. We just recently went to two Sikh weddings. The clothes and jewellry were so exquisite and colourful. There was really good Indian food and some great Bangra music.

A celebration like that is a fitting tribute to the guys whose memory is honoured every Armistice Day. They made the ultimate sacrifice so that we might have these freedoms.

------it was all going on --for sure!
they don't write lyrics like this any more!!!!
btw---- the poppie is the emblem for all those who died in the two World Wars
from both NZ and Australia!
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below
We are the dead---short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields
Take up the quarrel with the foe
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields

Bruce...may have passed your way in 1992! landed in Perth and then went walkabout visiting Margret River, Augusta, Manjimup, Albany, Wagin and back to Perth. The Karri forest was AMAZING!!!
Had really good times in WA then! Went to a music shop and asked about MIDI....the guy looked at me and said 'we sell Guitars here' Also managed to see John Mellancamp in Perth - awesome gig 'Human Wheels'
