trying to find good in bad!
All our songs are slowly slipping down the Genre Charts---so I was trying to find something good in this situation-------
And I did !
Although we don't have any #1s or #2s any more, we have 12 songs on the front page of their genre-----
out of 30 songs that can't be bad? but I miss that gut feeling when I see a # 1
charts are addictive!!

I wouldn't care if I was on the last page of the charts...if I was selling a zillion of at least one tune!! Charts can cause swelling of the cranial cavity. I'd rather have a distended wallet or pocketbook. (smile)

ah the charts... I care about them, too 8-)
but then, aren't we artists just like politicians caring a little bit too much about their opinion polls at times? Just like the voters want deeds, our listeners want notes ;-)

Hey at least you have the courage to look! I'm an ostridge, a coward. When I see them slipping, I just turn away and stop looking. I think to myself, "Oh Well, that's the music biz for ya." Hello goodbye! So glad my self worth doesn't depend on it. lol I've got bigger fish to fry! I'm raising cute puppies now! :-) LOL
It doesn't really mean anything. Perhaps charts are for new songs? Think of all the great great songs that are long gone and off the charts but never ever forgotten...........loved forever and ever, burned into our hearts and souls.

Hey Rob,
Hang in there buddy. The charts go up and down with the ebbs and flows of the listeners moods. Maybe you should re-introduce song of your slipping songs in another blog. It might get people interested and listening again. Sometimes as the listener we need a gentle prodding about our old favorites sometime we need a good slap on the back of the head.
I'm going for a listen to some of my favorites of yours right now.

Rob,
I misread your post and was intrigued by what 'trying to find good in bed!!' meant!!!! LOL :-D
I must admit, I have the same feeling as you about the charts. Sometimes I place too much emphasis on them and often, when I just focus on the music and forget the charts, I find my songs start to climb again.
Perhaps it is that universal law of letting go to allow things to happen ;-)

Don't worry about the charts....
when you get to my age, you just keep hoping that after you have been dead for 200 years someone will find your music and like it!!!

Hey Rob,
Yeah, it can be addictive, but it's better in my view to be around the upper/middle portion and remain there for some time. Means people are taking an interest, and new listeners like the music.
Now, if only this was Billboard ! Wouldn't that be a great swelling of the wallet as well as the ego. !
cheers, niteshift

What's all this about finding SuperPuss in Bed? Hmm...maybe I'd better read this thread again...
I was absolutely fixated on the charts when I arrived here...eventually realized I had to give that sick obsession up, Buddha-like, in order to attain Nirvana...I'd suggest everybody do the same...
