Raymond Porter interviews Silverwood!
It has been quite an experience having Ray ask some searching questions!!
We are thrilled that he has given us so much of his time and energythe phone line is a bit crackly at our end (New Zealand) but that just shows how the indie scene at IAC has pulled musos together from all around the world- and we are a force that will grow and develop like no other!!!!
It is on our site (SILVERWODSTUDIO) just turn off the auto player and will soon be on "Conversations with Raymomd Porter Station"

I'm listening now Rob. Great interview..... and GREAT stuff on the positive outlook! THAT I can TOTALLY relate to :-)
I can relate to you about the traffic thing too. I live on the Surfcoast Highway (becomes the Great Ocean Road about 15K's from my place) and recording acoustic instruments during the day is all but impossible!! ..... which is why I do that at night ;-)

What a great way to start my Sunday (I'm a late riser). I've enjoyed the music from Silverwood Studios for a while, and have 'conversed' with Rob a bit and it's good to be able to put a voice on the man.
Rob- you and your family have some great music and an excellent outlook on life. You guys completely 'rock'.

----in face to face I'm a bit more larconic------
Also ----it is a fine opportunity, that I recommend to Artists as a way of drawing us in closer----at the same time it makes us reflect on why we do this stuff!!!!!!

i'm so happy with this response.
Time after time i just love the way that you guys and girls simply open up in these interviews. It is such a joy for me to hear these great artists talk so humbly and share their love of family and humanity in general with us all. I want to give thanks to robert and for everyone else i've interviewed because each and every one of you have given me a different joy. You are all more than superstars in my eyes because you all keep your feet on the ground and sinply reach to the stars. There are two conditions that i put on how i chose in whom to interview. i have got to love your music and i have got to love you as a person. Therefore despite my ups and downs these feelings are constant and never changing. Therefore thanks to you all.

Thank you for all you do at IAC, Ray. You deserve much recognition for your creative contributions to this site.
Your interview with me was a turning point in helping me grieve for my brother because you helped me open up about it and I got many comments and e-mails of condolence which were very comforting. Covering your song was also very rewarding and cathartic as well because the subject matter was something I could really relate to. Your song brought out the essence of loss much better than any song of mine ever could. I felt honored that you allowed me the freedom to cover it the way I did and that you were happy with my version. It was also my way of showing my appreciation for your efforts on my behalf.
Your interview with Silverwood was also very inspirational to me as well.
Keep up the good work, Ray and I think you'll find there will be many more ups than downs. But you're right that what is good and true never changes despite the peaks and valleys that we all experience.

Thank you, Rob. (my interview doesn't seem to be on Ray's interview page any more) I'm working on my song about Silverwood right now and it should be done in a couple of weeks. I have one question: What inspired the name "Silverwood?"

Your interview could use a bit more raised intonation !
And, I'm hurt ... you didn't mention me ! ( Throws self on the floor and kicks and screams for several tantrumesque minutes ) ...
Seriously Silver, good to hear you in your speaking tongue, it's a good tongue, a sexy tongue, a wise tongue, a cheeky tongue, a raised tongue, and an elegant tongue to hear form such loving and inspiring thoughts...

Anjuli!!!
I agree about the tone----Heh it is a bit daunting!!
Look I tried to say your name and out popped "Hugh"
what th'F"""!!!! something strange-----but I do love a good tantrum!!!
Now Richard-------
silverwood came originally from my driftwood art -----the wood weathers in the sun and becomes a silver colour hence the nickname
but also-----when we bought this little farm the drive was lined with silver birch trees----so we put the two together and named our farm / studio
Silverwood!!!
here are some driftwood animals!!
