Recording at Big Totara!
Leo and I are packing today for a trip to the West Coast Studio at Big Totara (that's a river named after a tree!)
We are taking everything but the kitchen sink-including most of a drum kit, 3 guitars, ukes banjo, dulcimer plus mikes stands, an exrta amp (for Jams) -a pound of weed __just kidding there-plenty of wine though!!!
Ewe kids keep out of trouble while we're away!!!
Fat chance!!

Hi Duane and Sam!
should be fun at least---we have 6 songs ready,
---- hope at least one will make the grade?
The Totara is durable wood---fence posts etc grows very slowly---
can't think of any trees named after Rivers ----heh heh

Well!! Phew!!!!
That was a blast------we got home last night!
started recording "House of the Lord" with a new engineer on the first day --we also had a new guitar Artiste lined up but the bottle of whisky should have stayed in my wagon a bit longer----lol
the engineer passed out after 6 hours and he was using a program we don't know ----so we started from scratch again!!!! then the valium took out our "New " man ---I don't get that stuff-----so Jake and Leo took over the desk until Jake crashed and left us to tidy up----
day two --we had some good backing and vocals --spent time EQing and singing back up-----this song is sort of gospel with a universal message (not strictly christian)---started song two "In Stereo" that's the name of the tune!!
In Stereo----is the sort of tune that might just catch Steve Isons Ear!!
slightly 60s with some unusual chords and timimg ---lots of layers of sound!!
started another couple of tracks "Katie" and "Janine" (two songs) but getting nowhere so we went back to the mixer and spent the next day mixing and polishing then sleeping-------pretty happy with two songs in the can!!
both quite different !!!!
--- then into the wagon for a five hour drive home, and a bath!!

Hey Rob... sounds like you guys had a great and productive time. I can't wait until you get your new songs posted... I'm excited about adding one of yours as well as one of Sam's... waiting on him to finish the one he's been working on too, before I make my final decision.
I'm thinking a couple of shots of whisky would probably do me some good right about now... between adding songs... I've been entertaining myself with new ways to pronounce artist names... they might quite possibly like my variation... and I've come up with it totally sober... although, it might have been better if I had been drunk, then I'd at least have an excuse for my nonsense.
Thank you for the lovely note you left on the station, the tissue has been needed.
Enjoy the completion of the remainder of your creations.
