It took a Bad Combover to make it to the Top 10!!
Well, I finally made it into the Top 10 on a chart here at IAC!! My song, "Bad Combover Family Intervention" just broke into the Top 10 this week. Pretty cool. The tune is a preventative measure as much as anything because I figure it's only a matter of time before I lose my own hair. God knows I don't want to embarrass my kids!

I would be interested to hear about the worst combover you have ever seen. I have seen a lot of them over the years but I finally wrote this song after I saw this guy walking down the street on a windy day. He was as bald as you can be on top, but he grew his hair out real long just over his left ear, sweeped it across his head, and greased it down. I was walking behind him and the wind was kicking his ass the whole way down the sidewalk. His hair was blowing around off to the side of his head and he kept stopping to look into storefront windows so he could slick it down again. It was a losing battle!! I had enough material for at least two verses of a song after that episode and I went home and finished the tune later that night.

Ever seen anything like this?

Sometimes spur of the moment stuff turns out to be some of a person's best work. There are so many times I wish I had a notebook around. Especially when the tune is also in your head along with the lyrics. By the time I get home, I'll remember one but not the other,..ect.

Great tune though, good job!

Thanks Hugh-- I don't believe for a second you have ever had a bad hair day brother.

Duane-- so true. It can be torture sometimes to be a songwriter. I can't count how many actually got away due to intervening variables. But I guess you have to live life too or you wouldn't have anything to sing about ;)

Congrats on the chart success J!
Duane, my son just showed me that the cellphone I've had for the last 2 years has a voice recorder in it! Now I've finally got a note taker that goes everywhere with me.

Welcome, JPS!

I don't shine in the middle, but I do shine all oeuvre. It's embarrassing. I've done away with the part altogether, and sorta have a boulle cut, like when they put a bowel on your head and cut around it?

Anyhow, welcome to the comedy charts! Only our small whirled knows what an hohner that is!

Thanks Bruce! I'll ask my daughter the "text queen" about that feature! I have a brand new motorola/sprint set-up with a camera. I can at least take photogragh notes!

Congrats on top 10 ! Still tryin' to break the top 25 for ALL genres (briefly did it, but couldn't stay there for all genres)... BUT I do know what an accomplishment you've done! We're happy to be there in our little genre (HARD ALTERNATIVE) for the moment. SO a HUGE Congrats 2 U!
AND what I'm gonna do when my hairline goes way south, is STOP with the crazy-assed dreads attempt & go for the SHAVED bad-ass look (hopefully bad-ass) -- That way HAIR-line isn't an issue! Isn't it nice that completely bald became hip again? Hopefully it'll stay that way long enough for when I need to go there!

Thanks to all for the kind words!! Yes, I must state publicly that Rob from Silverwood Studio was the person who encouraged me to put the "Bad Combover" song in the Comedy genre. So, my thanks to Rob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
