Hockey world and beyond mourn after Humboldt Broncos tragedy
I hang up my guitar for the day in honour and respect to those killed and injured and to their families and friends in this devastating tragedy.
Canada is hockey in life, and sadly in tragedies such as this. I think of how many times I rode in buses around the world with members of figure skating teams I have managed in years past. Just can't imagine this. Heartfelt condolences to all affected by this unfathomable tragedy. #prayforhumboldt

"RCMP confirmed Saturday morning that 14 people were killed and 14 injured, some still in critical condition, when a truck collided with the bus carrying the team to a playoff game in northeastern Saskatchewan. The team’s coach and captain are amongst the deceased.
U.S. president Donald Trump paid his condolences via a phone call with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who also joined Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman in sharing their thoughts on the devastating crash." Yahoo Sports Staff, Yahoo Canada Sports

So devastating to so many, another young player just recently passed away, the toll could go higher, The Bus the group was in got T-Boned apparently. just brutal. hard to fathom, beyond comprehension. The Tractor Trailer operator who survived the crash has been released and is been given mental health counseling according to the RCMP . The go fund me campaign for the affected families and surviving players has reached 1 million dollars in 17 hours and still growing.
for the surviving families, friends, relatives mothers and fathers of those killed in this horrific accident ,the pain is beyond imaginable. huge hole in their hearts. So raw emotions, just saw an interview with a player who was traded from the Humboldt team said he is going back soon to be with his former players, give his condolences to the families affected and attend the memorial.

Tragic beyond belief and comprehension, Bryon. I can't imagine the spiral and depth of loss and grief being felt by the families of those killed and by others in their community.
For each life taken in that one final devastating instant, Friday, April 6, 2018 was the day love, hope, dreams and every note in their music of life died.
Hold those you cherish and love close and never miss an opportunity to tell them you do.
I keep a copy of the following attached to a picture on my desk of loved ones in my family:
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure that you are. Let me learn from you, love you, savour you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it will not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky, and want, more than all the world, your return." - Mary Jean Irion, cited in The Fitzhenry & Whiteside Book of Quotations.
