HONOURED, HUMBLED AND PRIVILEGED
Those are the first words that came to my mind as I sat down to say thank you from the bottom of this old cowboy's heart, and from the guys in "The Legendary Bear Creek Band" - Ray, Gary, Ken and Steve, to my nominator(s) in the Best Country Song category, to all who voted for "The Cowboy Song" in the Golden Kayak Awards, to Scott and Jilly .. and to Dorothy for an awesome and exciting Awards ceremony, and to everyone at IAC for making all of this possible.

To my fellow nominees in the Best Country Song category, I am greatly honoured to have shared the nominee stage with you and would have been thrilled for any one of you to have received the award.

To my fellow award recipients, sincere congratulations on your Golden Kayak Awards and best wishes for your continued success as you make your way down this great musical highway here at IAC and wherever you may travel. The guys in the band join with me in saying that we were honoured, humbled and privileged to share and savor this truly exciting experience and occasion with you. What a night it was. Truly one to remember for years to come.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again ... win, lose or draw, we are all winners here at IAC. The Golden Kayak awards are not so much a competition as they are a reflection of how we are heard and seen in the ears and eyes of our peers - a mirror of ourselves so to speak. We are all “winners”, if you will, simply by virtue of having arrived here on the wings of our own dreams. We have been blessed to be able to speak this incredible language of music, a language that lets us speak freely, openly and beautifully to everyone, everywhere in the world.

How very fortunate we are for those here at IAC who have created and who continue to build IAC into the most awesome indie community anywhere on the planet. No amount of words or thanks can ever express the gratitude, respect and admiration that I have for all at IAC, including each and every artist here, many of whom I am so very honoured, fortunate and blessed to call “friend”.
