::Wanders about kinda dizzy from the whirlwind:::
Hi everybody, I'm pretty new here (added first song to artist's page this past Sunday). I'm still wandering about, listening (to .. gosh fabulous music.. I can't believe you're not ALL signed to major labels) and spinning from my own experience since arriving. I'm finding myself struck by the connection between artists on IAC. This is a most unusual company. Sort of reminds me of my experiences in the best of my old bands- tight relationships, genuine caring about one another, pulling for one another. This feels like a great place.
If I may tell my story (I'll give you the sort version so not to bore) I *met* Rachel Fuller online in 2005 through a message board and became not only her very first blogger, but also a fast fan. Rachel's work is sterling, and she is one of the most genuine, sweetest persons I have had the pleasure to meet in the online music world. Since like attracts like, through her blog I found myself surrounded by a group of terriffic people, including several musicians, some of whom appear here (::waves to Gary Stockton and the BBs, among others::). In the course of *hanging out with the gang from In the Attic* one of the bloggers came up with the idea to do a tribute CD to present as a gift to Rachel, Pete and Simon Townshend and Mikey Cuthbert, for all the music and friendship they have extended to us. I was one of the lucky ones to be invited to contribute and chose one of my all time favs by the Who, Behind Blue Eyes. Rachel gave me permission for it to appear at Myspace and also on IAC. And that's when the whirlwind began to blow...
Within 24 hours of dropping it here, Rachel (bless her heart) placed it on Attic Radio. Somehow Cashbox Magazine heard it and placed it at #10 on their Indie Pop Picks list!!! I'm still kablinking.. how could it be that I have received such a gift from simply giving one? In any event, all of this is beyond any of my wildest expectations, probably because I expected nothing. To have appeared on the gift tribute CD and then at Attic radio was more than enough. Anything else from there is.. well just the icing on the cake. So I wanted to just thank all of you who have given me such a warm welcome since arriving at IAC, play time on your radio stations, kind comments on my artist's page, and invitations to listen to your work. All of it, as Rachel would say, is fabulous!!

See what I mean? Look at this feedback and excitement extended to me, a newbie!!
Believe me I was a bit terrified to approach not only a Townshend song, but one of the most incredible tunes he has written IMO. If you could read the credits on the CD you'd see me apologize if it was committing a sacriledge. But I love the song, I always have, and felt if nothing more, Pete would feel that when he heard it. Word from the GF is that he liked everything we did, so I stopped sweating and smiled.
As for IAC, THIS sure does look like the place.. and so.. give me time.. I'll be working to put out more.. :D

Hellooooo Father Time! I'd no idea that Cashbox listed indie charts, much less actually looked here at IAC... till Monday ;) . Believe me when I say, when I posted BBE at IAC I expected nothing more than a website to plop my song for my own selfs vainglory :P As I said, everything else has been icing!!!
Susan, thank you!!!!!
And you as well Village Jammers!!
And Man With No Band!!
I'll make it a point to come visit you all. As I said, the music being presented here is just excellent.
