Progress Report
Hey! We're making progress. Better than going backwards.
Check out the latest version and read my screed about singing choruses at -
The Indieland Collaboration Page
Comments and suggestions are appreciated.
EDIT 5/07: Spent the morning tightening up the vocals on the chorus - should be easier to sing to.

After listening to Hugh "Smooth" on line 1 and Carolyn "Sweet" on line 3&4 and me being stuck in between sounding like a sick hound dog with a serious lisp on line 2... you'll all be happy to hear that I have sent Dayvel a replacement line.. I hope it's at least slightly better on the ears ... :)

WHAT? Man with no band...you sounded just right to me! The whole point of this is for everybody to sound just like themselves, a "Hungarian Goulash" of voices!
Off to have a listen to the "latest/greatest"...thanks, all!

Man With No Band, CHILL!!!! You sound just great! Really!... The song so far is reminding me of the Traveling Wilburys in a way. That guitar is kickin' ass too!

MWNB - I enjoyed your part - it's the uniqueness of everyone that is making this fun & interesting. I'm lovin' the new small harmonies coming in.
I don't know about y'all, but it took me about 3 hrs just to get those 2 lines. aargh My first impression was ahh no problem, then when I did it my first ideas weren't workin'. Anyway I think we're always the most critical of ourselves.

Thanks guys-n-gals ... guess I should have explained myself a bit better .. I'm not complaining about my voice (cuz it's what I was blessed with) but rather my recording equipment ... never told anyone this before but I not only made my own guitar stand, I made my own microphone, it's the funniest darn thing you ever saw, but she's a bit tempermental and is so sensitive that I had to put one of my big 'ol wool socks for a filter on her to lower the sound echos of my heartbeat... anyway I finally got a real filter to put on her and I wanted to try her out ... So now Dayvel has two sounds to choose from ... and don't worry Hugh I still sound like me .. :)

Hmm...I thought your guitar stand WAS a mic...lol...what did you do, take the extra phone parts and rig the mic? This is what I'm talkin' 'bout...takes all types to make Indieland Indieland...

Tamed the esses in the first version MWNB, so we're good to go. I appreciate the extra effort, though. Mic building is a hobby of mine, too. I even have a site about it that I need to update-

I don't know what a finger mic is; tell me more. Sounds like a fun project. I'm pretty sure you can get everything you need pretty cheap down at Radio Shack.
Better email me so we don't disgust everyone with our nerditude.

Hey, Larree, I look forward to hearing your contribution after you're done toasting, roasting, boasting, and coasting...
Just had a listen to the latest greatest version (7c) and it's really coming together nicely - it's especially fun to hear all these voices in one tune...thanks everybody for taking the time to contribute! I'm starting to grasp the choruses too (LOL)...rock on, Bruthas and Sistas!

I never thought I would be sharing the "stage" with the kind of extremely talented artists as on this collaboration. I couldn't be more pleased!
