I don't think they had these problems at Abbey Road...
Well, this weekend was to be spent in recording sessions. My wife and Son are away for the weekend, so I was excited to lay down some tracks.
I was set up in my home studio, but I could not record anything. It seems about five crows were having an orgy outside my window..... that or they were murdering something, I am not sure. Is a pack of crows called a Murder??? Yes, I believe it is...makes sense....anyway I digress...
A few hours later, I was ready to go again...then my neighbor decided to cut some branches off a tree next door. These are the perils of the home studio. Although my room is treated, the microphone would still pick up the mayhem.
So, the neighborhood has finally settled down...It is 9:00PM here. I am just about to go upstairs for a long night of recording, I will probably go to bed around 5:00 AM.
I took a nap today in anticipation of the late night, I had to incorporate the crows in my dreams....the neighbor ended up sawing them in two :)
I am recording "Gemini", it will be a bit different then my regular fare. The day was not a complete loss, I finished a cool ethnic percussion track to go along with it..
Off to the studio...I don't think I have Bats in the neighborhood, but I will keep you posted if they disturb the session :)
Regards,
Jeff

Well the fun continues, tonight I was in the middle of a Vocal take and this happened...
"A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck tonight in South Los Angeles, and minutes later a magnitude 3.1 aftershock occurred, according to Caltech.
The "moderate" 5.0 quake struck shortly before 8:40 p.m., a mile east of Lennox, a mile south southeast of Inglewood and 10 miles south southwest of the Los Angeles Civic Center, according to Caltech.
The rumbling lasted about 10 to 15 seconds and was also felt across the Inland region, with some reports coming in as far east as Redlands."
Good thing I have a Shockmount on the Mic :)
