The Living Dolls
The Living Dolls are a really cool unapologetically retro group..I just heard a couple of their songs on Slow Commotion for the first time in ages and just thought to myself wow they're such a good band!
Maybe its a little to do with the obvious love and affection they have for the spirit in the music they love (60s swinging london pop/psychedelia-70s glam and power pop and late 60s/70s New York punk-alot of the styles i love unsuprisingly lol)
Main songwriter Josh has brilliant stations K-RTRO and K-NDY here and i'm so grateful for the countless gems here he's turned me on to and i've nicked for my own stations..
A few of my favourites are the brilliant psycho showtune Creep, the sublime tarnished sunshine of I Remember When and the totally brilliant epic sad eyed Long Long Waywith its ace solo languishing for some reason right at the bottom of their page
Sweet music indeed :)

I've been a big fan of the "Living dolls" since I first reviewed them on "Garageband" three years ago. i think I might have suggested to them that they should come over to the iac.
Brilliant band with a retro feel and original songs.

Steve,
They were one of the bands I used to listen to back in 2005 quite frequently on this site if I recall correctly, and I used to have that song Long Long Way in head quite often if that is the song title I remember ... ah, my memory isn't so good but since my return I've been trying to find the artists I used to listen to and love and had on my stations before they got deleted and I'm so grateful you posted this because honestly I'd forgotten about them on this site and I absolutely love this band !
Thanks Steve, you are so useful in so many ways and I love ya ! hee -anjuli

Anjuli-glad i've reminded you to re-hear them! :)
I think Josh pops his head in very occasionally here-but isn't really active anymore unfortunately..:(
Eaglehead Chris...Its actually taken me this long to get the work Cubase to my flat-now i've got it for 2 whole weeks now to learn-so i'm gonna be checking out the DVDs today..Just noticed that your tutorials are for SX 2.0 and the version we've got is 4.0..
Tho i'm sure there's alot of similarities

Many thanks for that Chris:)...and to you Anjuli for being so wonderfully sweet ..I'll do my best for songs with cubase-don't want you getting ferklempt! ;)
Hugh..I went for a week to switzerland with my uncle and aunt..We stayed in my cousin n partners gorgeous chalet 5,000 feet up right by the Austrian border with totally breathtaking views and went walking loads...Its by far the most beautiful place i've ever seen-and the weather was blue sky sunny nearly all week.....Magical
My cousin Fi's partner Tim Ray has made alot of money recently from these Bio-ray health products he's invented-and as well as buying a stack of guitars n expensive mics has built a proper home-studio from the windfall..Inviting me over was a way for him to get more familiar with running his studio(he's inviting his son's punk band over from the U.S to record an album in a few months-so i was good practice!) He asked for demo's of the songs i wrote beforehand to give to the bass-player and drummer (hence the chord charts on the lyrics i posted here)
It was saturday-saturday holiday...The bassist and drummer came on the tuesday to record the basic tracks and the rest of the time was dedicated to doing overdubs.Tims engineering time was very limited since he had alot of work meetings and buisness while i was there-most of the guitars, harmonies and mixing was done on the last friday till 3 in the morning!
