What a move -- an easy listening tune by PHLEGM of Conversation Suicide, right as the negotiations for a HARD ALTERNATIVE Release are being ironed out
It's true. If I had a publicist or PR person of somekind, I'm sure they wouldn't recommend this latest move. BUT --- I keep trying to convince folks like Ray Porter and Hugh Hamilton (who are talented/prolific musicians & REALLY nice & genuine people, by the way), that there is DIVERSITY to Phlegm & Conversation Suicide. That's why I just put "you look familiar" up on IACMUSIC.
Hopefully our eclectic music collective's self-proclaimed diversity has been seen in our BLUES, ROCK & Garage ROCK & Hip-HOp offerings thus far. CLEARLY, we are NOT just "HARD ALTERNATIVE", whatever that really means.
Just to prove the point -- PLEASE check out our latest TUNE up on IAC -- "you look familiar".
Kenny Colgate & his ROMULUS X Records will hopefully forgive us for this VERY NOT HARD pop rock/easy listening song.
Thanks to all who give it a listen & learn WHY I keep harping to Hugh that we're NOT just the harder stuff!
-Luv, Phlegm of Conversation Suicide
< an obvious choice of moniker for an easy-listening artist, right -uhh... hurm..DOH! >

More 'pop' than 'easy listening' I'd say. Quite catchy

hmmm.. You're probably right -- I just switched it to POP for genre.... oh labels and categories, one day we shall be free of all this! Thanks Andy!
And glad you found it catchy--that's OFTEN one of my goals, even for the LESS accessible stuff.

You don't need to persuade me of anything, Phlegm...I admire your musicality, even in the hardest stuff you've got posted...anyway, I'll bite - I won't put a sequin dress on and stand next to Ray singing backing vocals with you, but I'll track some backing vocals and other noises on that new one if you're up for it...send me an mp3 if ya like...

Wonderful offer, but how 'bout if we keep that tune as is, and just collaborate on something new together? Wouldn't that be a gas! OR on one of our stockpiles of material that either YOU or I have never hit the studio with...
hugh, it DOES mean a lot that you see the diversity, and hopefully others will to, and generate NEW listeners. Keep rockin' and let me know if my idea above strikes your fancy. I'll even wear the dress with sequins for that one! -phlegm

Hmm. My friend Dave Blood use to wear some groovy outfits in videos like this. He was a scarily sexy Viking-kinda chick for a spell:
I'm open to future collabs, Amigo, but the most successful ones I've done have been when I've heard one and instantly know what to do...this one is like that...if you have any other ideas, though, send 'em along...they could wind up on the HUGO DOES IAC album someday...lol...

uh... thanks for the back handed compliment, but since you are LYIN, DAN-- I assume it's a forehanded cut-down? urr.. I mean I side-handed cut-up? WAIT-- a flip-sided ... Oh shit, I'm all confused....You look familiar? Haven't I seen you raising hell in the PIPELINE and shit?
Har-de-har-har...cough>..HAR! Damn, what I meant was, Thanks! -phlegm
