nifty new 60's retro-soundin' silly li'l ditty phrom phlegm: I feel like I'm dancin' in the Street
hookay. It's been a real heavy few weeks for me, and apparently for a few others. So I thought I'd throw up another one off my B-side material. It's got that poppy-happy flavor, that you wish you had heard back in the 60's, but instead are hearing it now, and saying: "why dear lord? WHY?? Why is it so derivative, yet so catchy in it's vague familiarity? OH dear LORD, WHY?"
ummmm... sorry 'bout that.
It's called "I feel like I'm dancin' in the Street", which surely all of y'all have felt at times in your music/love-filled lives, at one time or another. All about elation & energetic blissfulness ... NEVERMIND. Just PLEASE, if ya get a chance in the next few days, give it a listen. HERE's the click-able LINK for anyone who dares:

Hmmm... maybe, but it's just a bit too "la-di-da-da-da-da, I'm so filled with happiness that I could kill somebody"
The not-so-subtle Neil Diamond influence jumps out with the little la-di-da I do in the intro., and most of my punk/metal/hardcore bandmates just can't deal with this one... BUT there it is, the poppy side o' phlegm, for all to see!
AND a very big thanks for adding it to GOOD STUFF tres.....
Hopefully you'll be driven to find even MORE phlegm-philled phunky phenomena on our page, now that I've turned you on to my RETRO side...
Thanks Todd for bein' cool to me, as always. From somebody with diverse tastes like you, 'tis truly an honour.

haha - enjoyed a laugh upon hearing the irony of the "la-la-da-da" with the grinding voice - this one hooked me from the start, Phlegm - nice...good lawd I'm having an image of five Dick Avens blowing horns on this tune...maybe I'm getting a whiff of your secondhand smoke...

oh no sir... I never smoke the "tobacco" when I'm around you, hugh--- 'cause I know you're a stand-up family guy, and don't go for that sort of thing.
But THANKS for the positive vibes! Do i make it to any more of your stations, with one of my crazy tunes yet?
And SAM Phillips -- man, you know some heavy hitters out there in the music world! I think I was looking at picks of YOU hangin' out with the band and such, right? Rock on!
By the way- I know SO well, what you mean about goin' to a GIG, of somebody else, and it just makes part of you long to be up on stage somewhere yourself at some level. SIR, you REALLY should GIG out, and stop hiding that talent under a bushel. I'll bet your wife would support it, in the right scenario!
Thanks again hugh.

Hey phlegm, this song is righteous man. I'm blown away by every aspect of the track. You just keep gettin' stronger with every new song you post. Country Joe and Fish meets Iggy Pop!!! Keep up the good work, man. This song could be a hit. It's one of catchiest things you've ever done and the vocals and guitar work are great. I hear some Stones influence in some of those chord changes too. It's a tight track.
HEY EVERYBODY, CHECK OUT PHLEGM'S NEW SONG: "I Feel Like Dancin' In The Street". (The link with the full title wouldn't fit on one line)
Phlegm's New Song
Phlegm, using your almost correct link as a model, follow these instructions and you can't go wrong. I won't give up until you learn to do this!!!!! It's so easy even a caveman can do it!

You could use the link to send people to your artist page or to just the song you want them to hear. So instead of putting your artist page number as the song ID, put the individual song ID # of the song. You can find that by going to your song page and clicking on the title of your song. That will take you to a page that has only that one song on it and the lyrics if you typed them in to "de_ion" when you uploaded the song. Observe the address in your http:// box and check out the song id #. It's a good idea to write down all your song id #'s so you won't have to look them up when you want to write a link. Good luck, my brother!

Richard, thank you very much for the kind words, and the brief how-to lesson on the correct HTML syntax. I went ahead and fixed the LINK above accordingly. Your very explicit directions worked like a charm, and now I have a blog example that I can always refer back to whenever I get stupid.
I must tell you though, we are movin' away from the poppy indie sound, and goin' for the HARD Alternative Rock sound now, so B-sides like this may not be re-visited until another time and place. I like MANY styles and sounds, as you may have guessed by now, but my current band-mates want MORE tunes like
Sun is Risin' , In His Head & DUI GUY ...
I wanna ROCK with that type of HIGH-energy, balls out in your face aggression for so many reasons. However, I'm VERY glad that my mellower stuff has found fans as well, and it's been suprising and pleasing at the same time, that these pop/rock & mellower tunes have actually helped show the diversity that is PHLEGM & Conversation Suicide.
But, I'm sure more of the retro sounds will keep croppin' up, as it's a BIG part of who I am. Believe you me, I'm a fan of PUNK/FUNK/METAL/BLUES/POP/R&B/ HIP-HOP & your basic ROCK & ROLL. That's why I end up creating such eclectic stuff, ya know.
Gotta go where the HEART & muse seem to be flowin' right now, and that's the HARD ALternative PUNK/PHUNK/METAL/& aggressive BLuesy ROCK & ROLL sound that got us noticed by Romulus X Records.
Anyhoo...thanks for mentionin' myself & Iggie Pop in the same breath.
He's one of my all time Idols. Rock on Richard, never quit pursuing the music in your soul.... It's one of the things that makes this life more than just work & toil !
-luv, pHLeGmie

yup. I mentioned that reference in the posts above. Neil Diamond is amongst my MANY vocal influences.... so I guess you either LIKE it, or think it is MUCH too derivative to be considered to have any type of ORIGINAL vocal melody work goin' on. S'all good.
Just tell me wha's up Mr. Perfect Banana? Like it, or think it's more of that RIP-OFF music, that seems all too prevalent on IAC? I'd really like ta know.
If ya DON'T dig it -- than ya might try the other diverse stuff amongst our 36 tunes currently up in here. I'll betcha can't honestly say they ALL suck, and are just sound-alike crippity-crap.

Or would that be bum's up ?
( that was an old man joke with pudding on his trousers )
Phlegm, I think it's cool when you hear a tune that you know you've heard before but can't place it, it's a continuation of the good stuff, but in your Phlegmy Phlegm way. Normally you'd have to have sex or at least swallow in some writhing threesome with David Bowie & Mick Jagger to endow a title with that dancin' in the street theme any kind of edge rather than the predicted cliche so my hats off to you for doing so ! You done iac proud again, and you don't even have to keep it a secret this time like you did with old uncle priesty. The banana mocks you my friend...

It's perfectly fine Anjuli, in my dream of a Perfect Day I am constantly mocked by various perfect bananas, both large & small.
I admit, it's NOT the edgy sound I'm goin' for, but I can't deny the androgynous bowie/jagger rockstar-wannabe thingee is often lurking beneath my attempts at heavy-handed hardcore hetero punk n' Rock & Roller ...
But you know it can be a quite diggable juxtaposition, eh?
to the code: for a band that rocks like y'all do to even give me the time of day is a DAMN good thing!! Thanks guys~ Cheers~!

Yeah Phlegm... The Code rocks but so do you ! Why wouldn't they have time for you? And quite frankly Phlegm, I dig all your different sounds, edgy or otherwise... i must say, I don't know why your band members take such issue with these pop tunes of yours ? ... It's no shame, it's cool stuff... and you have an excellent set of pipes to cover much ground. Besides, have you ever heard the softer side of some of these oh so famous supposed hard edgers ... good lord, they might as well stick tampons up there arses just to really get in touch with their feminine sides. You may get poppy, but you do it like a man... and that's cool. Never let the banana see you cry...

Sorry 'bout that Hugh the thread went a little off subject there. S'probably just a sign that I need to crash out for a couple o' hours, before heading off to the DAY job & then another nite of BAND practice after some family time.
Thanks for stopping by to try and understand the bizzarre thread that has unfolded, and AGAIN for givin' my newest addition to my IAC arsenal a listen.
I think I'm doing more of that psycho-technical babble again.
anyhoo THANKS ! See y'all in IAC land later!

Well. The time of notice for a NEW SONG, as it's added to IAC has expired, so a HUGE thanks to all who commented and ADDED it to their stations, once again.
Still VERY suprised by the reaction to the poppier cide of conversation sui- cide.
There's more diversity to come, so stay tuned, if you've become a listener...
