Oh my god what a phuckin' loser ! Sez he's goin' to England to see the KING of Product Recall & others and fails to do so! LOSER!!!!!
yeah. Loser & failure on THIS trip. BUT NOT the next one in 2009, where we'll be visiting YORK England.
So VERY sorry to have missed meeting up with the following people on our trip to Hounslow's outskirts and London:
SCHOOL of PRoduct Recall
Colin & The CODE
Papa George
Raven
Chris of Data Theives
and Anjuli...
BUT VERY Lucky to have got to go to a local pub that Princezzz and I got to diggin' (THE PLOUGH) on the outskirts of HOUNSLOW West, with DirgeK's Mum & Daddy. THEY were AWESOME people. Princezzz loved them immediately, and they fuckin' loved us right back! Even took us on a LOVELY personalized Tour of Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, TheTower of London, The Bridge itself & all along the River Thames...
We also got to go to a fabulous market with them (but unfortunately no mulah for produce & cheese, that you'd cream your jeans for... and patte urrr...pattae ...uhh... (whatever that stuff with liver that you throw on crackers is called )- to die for! Princezz was in Heaven, and also wished we could have taken the whole place back home with us.
It reminded Phlegm of PORTABELLO ROAD from Bedknobs and Broomsticks (FUCKIN" Wanker! clearly Princezzz is the REAL anglophile!)
Phlegm's phavorite was the pubs & Clubs we got to visit and even step foot in, throughout the SOHO area & the like. Tony (DirgeK's Dad) is quite the local celebrity and humorous soul about town. Jill was sweet as you could expect, and very friendly towards the crazy americans! Dirgek must have been an AMAZING woman. I already was a believer in her magical music voice.
SO THANK YOU !!!! DirgeK's Mum & Dad (Jill & Tony) for a wonderful time, and I hope you'll allow us to look you up again, and let US take YOU to a marvelous meal, in YORK in MAY/JUNE/JULY sometime in 2009....
Papa George and Colin of The CODE, it was GREAT to hear your voices LIVE on the phone, and you both sound as COOL as your music, man~.
Again, so sorry that ALL of the best laid plans fell through, but we honestly had to ensure the humongous phamily of Princezzz and Phlegm, were taken care of while we were gone. SO there was no money for takin' trains out an about.
ANDY BROAD: I'm sorry we missed your fairly distant gig as well. I DIG your BLUES, man!
PRINCEZZZ is right with me here in Tucson at this lovely little moment, and sez:
" I'm always with you, PHLEGM! Why the fuck are you saying that? Anyhoo... You guyz all rock, hopefully we'll get to see the people that we didn't get to touch base with this time- NEXT TIME. and oh.... Jill and Tony you guyz are amazing. TONY, you have the best ideas for a tour of London. I saw everything I wanted to see and more. I'm sending the recipe for chilli and some ingredients. So Jill you can make some MARVELOUS Chilli by Princezzz Von Franklinstein. All you'll need to get is the meat & veggies...
I've always wanted to see YORK so since Tony has reved up my engines on this one that's where will be visiting in 2009, bypassing LONDON. Except to stop by and visit if you can't make it out that way...
Hope you guys are doing well. Let us know how Tony's 20th anniversary of his 45th birthday goes..."
-much Luv and Respect, Princezzz and Phlegm
and HOW's THIS for LOSER - We've got the number one SLOT again in HARD ALTERNATIVE baby! Tha's right our vampirific little ditty, The SUN is Risin' is number ONE again.
EAT that you naysayers!

Allright Jill - You win - but ya gotta tell me where you heard that one? I can't remember a site it's currently loaded on.
But, YES I'll put PSYCHIC FRIEND up next.
GREAT to hear Tony has found his retirement vocation He was a wonderful guide for that personal tour y'all gave !!! Still the highlight of our trip.
I'll check regular email fer stuff that Princezzz said would be there from you.
GLAD to hear about Dirgek's chart success with Beat Dancin' !
And Hugh - Hiety-ho! Nice to see you up in here I think you'll find some PICS of the trip under DirgeK (Jill's) blog about it or PAPA George....
OH YEAH one more thing, I did finally get to meet School, of Product Recall (a GREAT IAC artist!), by telephone this past Friday. He said he was bored at work so he called. Obviously, short, but pretty fuckin' cool interaction. Every day another step closer to ROMULUS X Records UK.
If you LIKE heavier music, PLEASE do yersef a favor & checkout Product Recall They have a BEATIFUL fusion of PUNK/grunge & metal/ROCKand ROLL !!!!!!

CD Tuscon Epidemic : Bands that share the same Phlegm Pure Volume
I love the sexy ? Spanish line. This song is genius, the lyrics are great, don't you like it ?
I do like the harder songs especially when I'm feeling frustrated or stressed with life but they are not my favourites

Yup. That's why I'll be sure and put up Psychic Friends soon! Gotta keep fans like yourself happy glad that at least my LIGHTER side is appealing to ya Jill.
It's been a rough few weeks here for me, so having a personal request like this, makes it all worth it!
I had to remove many of the tunes from PUREVOLUME due to budget constraints... It's a cool site, but LIGHTYEARS away from bein' as cool as IAC.
Oh yeah, we'll be checkin' out that Bed & Breakfast - are y'all still down for a brief foray into visiting YORK with Princezzz y Phlegm, in MAY??

It would be great to meet up with you in York, it is my favourite UK city. It is Tony's home town so he would love to show you round. Hopefully we can combine it with a visit to see his dad who will be 95 in May.
I think you music is so versatile it can appeal to all ages from an ageing hippie like myself, to an old age pensioner like my husband and I am sure the younger generation enjoy rocking out to the harder stuff.
I don't think any main stream bands in the UK at the moment could touch you, you deserve to get signed with a major label.
I think you have a lot in common with DirgeK as a singer songwriter even though the style of music is completely different. You pour so much soul and emotion into you lyrics in the same way Dirge did, despite the hard exterior of your songs. Maybe that was why you felt a connection with her music
Much Respect J

You should look at getting a flight to Manchester, then a train to York which takes about an hour, from the airport ,and bypass London otherwise the journey would be too long

Manchester to York. Got it. I'll suggest that to Princezzz.
I'll be checkin' my email later tonight for the latest stuff you sent by the way. DOH! Gotta go get another DAY job, asap, 'cause music does NOT YET pay the bills... I hate lookin' fer work. But since you were listenin' to my TWO versions of my "workin' man blues", you already knew this, eh?
THANKS Jill, for keeping this wacky thread alive!

what happened to the DAY job?.... urrrr.... I lost it ... my head is TOO wrapped up in music sometimes, considering that it has barely paid for ITSELF, and that only a few times, and NEVER helped with the KILLER bills like utilities or mortgage. DOH!
I found another job of course though, shitty though it may be & LONG hours, but I start Monday, so we SHOULD be Ok, thanks be to the Goddess....
S'gonna be a LONG haul as a musician in this really CRAPPY economy, but I'll NEVER quit.
Like Auset recently said about MUSIC: It's who I AM.
Probably more than you wanted to know, but with just barely recovering from the trip to England, and bills piling up & gettin' a little behind; this was REAL bad timing for loss of job. I'm sure Princezzz has told you about her fuckin' AWESOME home school project for three of our wonderfully bright & talented kids, so I've been REALLY stressed as the ONLY bread winner in the house.
I'm hopin' to turn things around a little financially in 2009 here, and to FORCE myself to keep lookin' for a BETTER job, while workin' this johnny-needs-a-paycheck-quick, rescue/shit job...
Come Monday, If I'm being responsible, you should hear from me a little less around here.
Thanks for listening. What I really need is to find a way around the $40 K student loan debt, and go back to school for a MASTERS, and thus make us viable, WANTED candidates for a migration to England/UK. That's something I'll be pursuing in the coming months too...but I don't see HOW they'll loan me more sheckles, when I haven't been able to pay back my previous education cost. REALLY need a GRANT or some such... It's QUITE a hurdle.
Jill, in the USA, it often seems like the Government & powers-that-be have a GOAL of making it REAL difficult for people to get out of a poverty situation, unless they are directly supporting Corporate AmeriKKKa....
Of course, some folks would say I shouldn't have had so many kids. But what they DON'T know is BEFORE the Computer Professional Market became GLUTTED & had SO damn many LAyoffs (redundancy) in the USA, I was making GOOD money, in a lucrative career, and we were doin' exquisite, financially.
Sigh. just venting Jill.
I talked to a few folks in our favorite nearby Pub to the Hotel (The Plough), and I KNOW England is facing the same economic crisis.
Again thanks for listening. We did at least have a fairly effective band practice tonight, and wrote more new material as well- even with broken equipment, and other foibles...
Hmmmm.... I think I'll do something I've NEVER done & delete this post after you respond to it JILL!
Thanks again for a listening ear.
- one fairly stressed out pHLeGm, tryin' to make the necessary adjustments for MUSIC/ day job-MONEY AND Family....

Sounds like the only way out is to get a record deal with someone who has faith in your music and is prepared to give you a million dollar contract. Maybe if you can get enough exposure it could happen so hope somebody with the resources is reading this. It is hard to concentrate on music when you work long hours, I would like to do more myself but I am always too exhausted when I get back from work
Things are not good here in the UK at the moment. Lots of companies are going bust and closing and a lot of people are going to be out of work. People are very worried and afraid to spend anything so prices are being cut everywhere. The measures the government has put in place don't seem to be working with the banks still not lending money so don't know how or when the economy will recover. At least you can still manage to find jobs in Tuscon.
Many people are getting into debt and having their homes repossessed, don't know where it will all end.
I pray that good luck will come your way you don't deserve to be in such difficulties.
Hope this will cheer you up.

Peace and Love J

God that was a whiney post I did before yours, Jill. Sorry.
I've been REALLY out of sorts.
I realize it's just as tough in the UK financially. All over really.
When I'm being thankful and more in my right mind, I often realize that MUSIC is a gift, and if I was born in an even MORE repressed economic situation, I'd have to be thankful for even less.
Like a third world country, for example.
"don't deserve to be in such difficulties" -- beautiful sentiment, but we ALL know that nobody "deserves" hardship or pain. I've really been QUITE lucky, to continue on with my dream in a self-enforced economic hardship (I.e. fostering so many children into this world).
Thank you for helping me to remember to be thankful for what I have.
Many don't even have that. I suspect MANY musicians will be forced to give up the expense of studios & practice spaces in the next few years.
With all the foreclosures on mortgages goin' on in the US, I'm thankin' my lucky stars right now that we still have a home, big enough to fit Princezzz, myself & our brood!
And VERY sweet of you to build a collection of the "lighter side o' Phlegm" !!!
You and Tony are REALLY cool people. VERY happy to have met you, and definitely feel that much closer to the amazing soul you brought into this world - DirgeK.
-love, pHLeGm
