A rare opportunity for one of the most eclectic IAC collaborations in awhile = Aimee Terrin to possibly work with pHLeGm and the boyz...
It's true. This is NOT a hoax or some bullshit HYPE.
The Powerhouse female Singer/Songwriter known as Aimee Terrin, who's made a name for herself in such a short time on IAC, will be traveling to Arizona.
She's doing her own thang, but has already publicly suggested in our ShoutBox that she'd been willing to try and jam/collaborate when out near Tucson-way.
So Aimee, Here's my public real-world collaboration request.
Let's make this crazy idea really happen!!
==================================================
Dear Aimee Terrin:
Aimee, You've always been cool to me on IAC.
But if you're SERIOUS about stoppin' by Tucson, via Chandler, and jammin' with us around the 28th of February, or so, then... well....urrr.....we should totally fuckin' do this thing...catch a musical collaboration on a recording for all to hear.
IT's pretty damn exciting - Ya see, you've got a powerful RnB, Pop, Bluesy-rock voice
and you've worked with one of my greatest idols, Dr. Dre
and we could make some beautiful music together.
The song I'd like you to step in on is called "We Make The Rock", and it's a rock, funk, RnB, reggae-styled, fusion tune; and it has room for either a hip-hop style spit,
or a melodic Rnb verse, coupled with my crazy anthemic chorus.
I'm pretty certain you'll see that it's something you could add so much to.
We're hittin' the studio for the first time in a couple of years with some of my best stuff yet. We're also doin' a few bluesy-rock tunes, that could easily be made to have an RnB twist.
It's all up to whether you actually make yourself available for some vocal stylin'.
Love what you do, and would LOVE to work with you!
===========================================
We can meet at the Drummer's Studio to record on nuetral ground, after checking out which tune that we've got ready, would work for you.
This is all new material, and you will get your name out there just a little bit more, in the lovely underground scene.
Admittedly, it's a small scene, but it would broaden your horizons, and grow you as a musician even further.
So whadaya Think?
here's our home number, if you wanna make arrangements: 520-546-4522.
Sincerely yours,
-pHLeGm

Aimee --- That's fuckin' awesome. Got your voicemail.
Work's been hell-acious, so haven't had time to call, but would tomorrow night at about 11pm Mountain Time be Ok? If you're not a late night turkey or vampire, than I'll wait until Friday morning/afternoon, when I finally get a day off....

"diabolically beautiful ..."
fuckin' sweet, man.
I can't wait. We've been playin' phone tag, but tomorrow, when I'm off work, and can call her during normal human hours,
we'll probably get the dialog goin' for the next steps on this one.
It'll be a whirlwind couple of hours in the studio, but whatever she's willing to make time for,
is cool with me.
Definitely a meeting of two unique takes on music!

Spoke with Ms. Terrin over the phone tonight, and it was WAY fuckin' cool....
Looks like a LOT of possibilities.... she's even willing to work off of the crappy LIVE recordings we've got thus far, to get an idea which song we should hit the studio with, and have Aimee doing vocals, and possibly keys, with myself on BASS, and alternating Back-up, Lead Vocals....
We're not sure what's going to develop, but thanks for all who've shown interest!
And not a nay-sayer in the crew, thus far; can't complain 'bout THAT one.

Phlegm,
Great talking to you yesterday...really excited about the possibilities! Things have been a bit crazy around here with my sister, husband and new baby visiting...let's shoot for talking again on Mon? Does that work for the vampire? Let me know...also, did you happen to send those recordings? I've been checking...hopefully, I had your right email address...if not, let me know...A.T :)

Hey COLIN - Thanks!
And don't forget 'bout OUR collab,
\
once we get close to y'all, in Leicester, England (just about 50-60 miles away, eh?)
and have been corresponding/speaking with Aimee on this for over 2 weeks now.
THIS COLLAB is REAL.
We begin studio recording/production this coming Sunday, so I'm pretty damn excited.
It's been a couple of years since we've had the opportunity to record professionally, and I'm tired of being the LO-FI king.... Can't wait to hear what y'all think of Aimee and My Collab work !!!

Thanks HUGH, and Bryon for stoppin' by.
She's a busy musician, and I've got a very busy life too, but either way, the bass/drum and some guitar tracks (possibly some of my vocal parts too) will be "layed down on the reel-to-reel" begining this Sunday.
Urrr... well, it'll be digital not analog, so actually NOT reel-to-reel.....
But it's DEFINITELY gonna be Real-to-REAL, with an eclectic mix of artists and styles/compositions that's sure to have something for EVERYBODY!
I'm SO fuckin' excited, and READY for a BREAK from reluctantly
living on IAC lately as the LO-FI guy.
THESE 6-8 songs are gonna KICK SOME MAJOR Ass,
and TAKE some NAMES, once mixed and mastered properly.
I think many who give them a listen, in LATE Summer/FALL 2010, when hopefully the project is complete, will be pleased.
Look for a partnering with Aimee Terrin, her management/promotion/and music publishing company, Artfest Music, C-note, Steven Butt, and
are you ready? >DrumRoll please now....<
Kenny Colgate and his Romulus X Records .
================================================
TODay IS the DAY - Hittin' the STUDIO, for the FIRST time in a couple of years....
We're layin' down the BASS, DRUMS and GUITAR for some tracks that
Aimee Terrin will be joinin' in on, when she's available in March sometime.
I'm fuckin' EXCITED, and a little nervous.
=============================================================
WANT THIS TO BE KILLLLLER !
==============================
T'was AWESOME for a first stab. We record the drum and bass for ALL 8 songs of the E.P.
this coming week.
C'mon Aimee.....awaiting yer CALL, man.

Thanks for the encouragement, Monkey68!
\\
By the by.....did you hear that Aimee has worked with GREATS like
Dr. Dre, AKon, George Clinton, and Jazzy Jeff ??
I'm not gonna lie.... I'm just a WEE bit star-struck with the possibilities of this project
with a commercially successful Artist, like Aimee...
and she's so DAMN down-2-earth on the telephone, too !
Here's hopin' we AMAZE all-o-y'all at IAC with our collaboration.... It's gonna be happening soon...
Stay tuned, right here on IAC, over the next couple o' months...

I don't know for sure Bo....urrr... I mean ZTP; musicians/artists are FREE spirits, man. Time will tell.
I'm still down! But she's an AMAZING, and BUSY artist, ya know.... so WHO knows?
For now;
I'll just have to settle for my collaborations with YOU (ZTP), Hugh Hamilton (who's been lucky enough to play with Joe Jack Talcum, of the Dead Milkmen!), and anybody ELSE out there, who wants to SERIOUSLY give it a go...
Cheers.
