I'm not Joe the Plumber.
Joe the plumber is a proven fraud. Anybody who would go on a commercial saying they're Joe the Plumber is a bloomin idiot, especially if they're not a plumber and their name is not Joe.
I heard that gimmicks like Joe the Plumber worked back in the 70s and were actually considered clever and funny back then but I'm not that old.
Stupid ads for stupid people. If there were more stupid people, McCain and Palin would rule. :>)

Until the votes are counted, Holo, the chances are still one in two. There was a time when wisdom was celebrated. Seems lately celebrity is mistaken for wisdom.

If you think the chances are 1 in 2, you should go bet on McCain at Vegas, you could make a lot of money if he wins.
You should say what you mean though. Surely you're not implying Obama is some kind of celebrity because that would mean you're gullible enough to buy that idiotic McCain ad from a few months ago. Actually McCain has done the Hollywood/Leno/Letterman circuit far more, even played himself in a movie. If anybody in this race is a celebrity, it's him. He even likes hanging out with celebrities.
What is wisdom really? Isn't it just being smart and thinking things out, doing everything you need to do to understand, and learning from your mistakes? If so, Obama is very wise.

Easy does it, Holo, I'm on the same team....otherwise wouldn't be conjuring up campaign slogans like "Tip-a-canoe and Tigger, too".
My first impression was that the Palin pick was the best thing that could happen for the Obama campaign. Since that moment I saw the airwaves flooded with her instant celebrity, and with good reason....it sells big-time to the lowest common denominator. You're correct...."stupid ads for stupid people".
Honestly, I fear the race issue will unfortunately play a large role in this election and the larger message to a higher standard will be lost (and I do believe in a higher standard). I actually fear for Mr Obama's life and the upheaval that will follow, should such ignorance rear its ugly head.
I am old enough to remember Reagan pulling aces like Joe the Plumber from his sleeve, calling on them in his convention speeches to stand up and be recognized for emotional impact. Great theater.....that was his forte.
Finally, wisdom is knowing when not to let reason elope with passion.
