What did you think?

If it involved THEM paying YOU money, that would explain why I did not get one (lol) - it is a foregone conclusion in my life that music is my "money pit"...

They're probably not looking for Aussies either.
Hugh, I can totally relate to your GAS syndrome!!!
I just ordered two new cymbals (a splash and a china) for my V Drums and am about to spend another grand upgrading my TD12 module to a TD20........ GAS really doesn't end!

I'd love an offer from somebody's cashbox. Nope, didn't see it. Everybody wants to give me nuts anyway.

HOWEVER, cashbox magazine IS the primary resource for IACMUSIC and it's EXPANSION into the rest of the Mainstream, because it USES Iacmusic charts for all it's INDIE genre TOP 10 artists.
SO, It's kind of cool in that way. AND just like my fellow musicians that feel out of loop with any Cash- box, my luck as always, THE Hard Alternative Genre is ONE of the few genres that is NOT listed in CASHBOX magazine.
DOH!
SO we gotta make it back to NO.1 and then into the TOP 10 of ALL genre's singles before they'll even give us the time of day.
WHICH brings me back to reality--- ya gotta do it for love. EXAMPLE: Tomorrow I get to do a basically FREE LIVE show with THREE different bands as a HEMPFEST. IT's about MUSIC & LOVE, baby.

IAC Administrators wanted to state here point blank that IAC is not involved in any way with Cashbox Records, and are also not in favor of any record deal that asks for a large fee upfront from artists.

Me too. The industry is rife with businesses who just want upfront money to cashbox in on artist's inherent gamble.
Here's the thing:
Music is wonderful and rewarding, for the soul. If you've ever sold a song, be happy. You're amongst the minority.
I just came from Ireland, located next to Britain.
I brought my guitar. I performed four nights out of seven. I played Beatles music to the country located next door.
They didn't know what the fuck I was playing.
The Beatles weren't "big" in Ireland.
lol ...
True.
Best,

Nope! FUJI MINX has had two #1's in all genres. So what does it take to get an invite?

No I didn't get one but I'd be very suspicious of any unsolicited invitations in the music business I'm afraid

I'm only disappointed in that it would mean they "noticed" me... but if they NEED money to do any help promoting, then I'm with Y'all. Any MONEY that becomes available to OUR band, goes to hitting the STUDIO with some of the literally hundreds of tunes that haven't been polished enough to get there. But I do admit we are an especially poor band due to familes to care for & such.
BUT I get TONS of these kinds of offers that all REQUIRE money from the artist up front to gain better exposure. And I almost always contact the given promoter or supposed A&R rep back with "you invest in us, we'll make you money by giving you a percentage of what we make"...
I've got TONS to learn about the business end of things, but I KNOW this much: If you have no capital or money up front, you CAN'T do any pay to distribute or Pay-to-play kind of deal. And THAT my friends is what I mean by Starving musician.
-Phlegm, who may NEVER be cool enough for CASHBOX but STILL dreams...
