Stegor's Daily Sketch
I have this job where I often find myself sitting in boring meetings. I always have a sketchbook with me. People think I'm taking notes. Ha! So I was flipping through one of my sketchbooks and came across this one. I thought "It's too bad I'm the only one that ever sees these little impromptu streams of consciousness. I bet there are some folks on the Pipeline that might find them... interesting." They aren't all music related, but to me music and visual art are inseparable. It is the Independent Artist Company, after all!
So I decided to do a daily visual blog. Some of these sketches are very rough and postage stamp size, some are intricate and in living color (depending on the length and boredom factor of the meeting). Feel free to comment, in fact captions might be fun. Depending on how it looks as it develops I may find it necessary to delete posts, so don't be offended if I do.

This was a longer and more boring meeting and I had one of those fat pens with a bunch of different colors in it.

BWAHAHAHAH!
Maybe I could get a job where you work, but instead of sketching at meetings I could track songs into a mini-recorder...um...people would think I was recording "notes"?
|
|
|

Is that one of those sketches they show you when they're trying to find out what you see in it to determine your state of mind etc?

Sloppy joes and a mess of baked beans again Stegor ?

I just like the shadow underneath, for some obscure reason that makes me laugh, the fact that something like that would have a shadow !

Thanks for all the great comments! I was going to delete them every day but I just can't bear to do it.
This must have been a short but positive meeting. Hey, they can't all be masterpieces!

He was Stegor, the Doodling Dude
Doodled daily, expressing his mood
But his wild artistic messing
Kept the Pipeline posters guessing
Were these doodled doings cryptic or just rude?

The Mistress of Music found she had no choice,
She had to deploy her keen poetic voice,
For Stegor's strange art
Struck right at her heart
And her eyes would first look, then get moist...
BWAHAHAHAH!

|
|
9/21/2007 12:17:38 PM
Seems that Hugo is touched by the bard
He is not a poetic retard
But his saucy entente
Would embarrass my Aunt,
On reflection it wouldn't be hard.

I came to dance
and look at the pictures
and to read all the lines
from the permanent fixtures
The drawings were great
the lines made me grin
once more, my heart
dances again

Oh how we love browsing through Stegor's Gallery
Great how he scribbles and still draws his salary
So much I see that I cannot explain
Like 'The man with no band' rhyming "grin" with "again" (<>)

Did I say daily? I guess I meant daily except weekends.

A-ha, I see this one, a cross between a pin cushion, Mr Potato Head, a Matian, and someone with bad acne who is being held hostage (with nobody to love)

Verity - I imagine Sam rhyming "grin" with "aggin" despite the usual spelling of "again"... that's how I read it anyway...

It seemed perfectly logical to me Hugh but Music Mistress is not one of us D, and I think they speak more proper where she comes from ha-ha

Hey, Stegolator - it seems to me you should be an editorial cartoonist...but I'm afraid if you're no longer tortured by boring meetings the spark may no longer be kindled...just think of all the great recording gear you could buy if you were syndicated...lol...

Gotta agree with Paul there Stegor! These drawings are way cool. You should do an exhibition one day.
You should add these to your IAC gallery :-)
