Stegor's going under the knife
I'm looking a bit green today because I've got a touch of the gall stones. Right now my gall bladder would make a great gizzard if I were a chicken. But in humans gravel just doesn't belong in any organ so it's gotta go. I'm thinking of having it made into a maraca. I've been neglecting my scribble corners in favor of writhing in pain. Just kidding - it's not that bad unless I eat a cheeseburger, so I've been living on nuts and berries. Friday's the day. So I'll have a week off work, hopefully feeling well enough to record something! Wish me luck. I hate hospitals. They produce great anxiety, and I don't need any help with that.

Sorry to hear you are going through this, but its for the best! You will feel a lot better afterwards. Keep us updated, I know it will go well. I hate hospitals too...I hate Doctors in General. I think many Men have an aversion to going to the Doctors office, but it is good that you are taking care of business!! Take care and God Bless... Jeff

The good news is this is a small surgery these days. The not so good news it that its still surgery.
Get well you will feel much better after that bad gall bladder is out.

Best of luck! See if you can bring back the removed stones, and paint Mick and Keith's faces on them. Just a thought. But seriously, get well soon Sir Stegor.

Not the kind of "STONES" I'd want to see either, but maybe some Brown Sugar or a Honky Tonk Woman can ease your pain. Nah you'll be FINE!!! Just go in, go to sleep with some good meds and wake up and watch TV!!!
Best! We'll be thinking of you!

Thanks, everyone. I'm looking forward to some Vicodin and Andy Griffith. I always watch Andy Griffith when I'm home sick. I hope TV Land is still showing it. I might have to get a set of DVD's.
Dr. Dust (Bat Lenny drummer) was feeling generous and ordered me a stack of CD's from my Amazon wish list to help me recover:
John Foxx - Metamatic
Ultravox!
Ultravox - Systems of Romance
Yellow Magic Orchestra - BGM
Tommy Bolin - Teaser
Dukes of Stratosphere - Chips off the Chocolate Fireball
XTC - Drums & Wires
Kate Bush - The Dreaming
Haven't heard these old favorites from the vinyl days in years. Looking forward to it!

Here's to a speedy recovery Steg ... (The gall of those stones ... sheeeesh)
I've never tried that flavor but I've done the kidney stone thing twice ... not fun in the least ... but the human body is a resilient thing and "Andy Griffith" is a sure Cure-All for sure ... Be thinkin' 'bout ya man ...

Seriously, Greg, best wishes for a "routine" procedure and comfortable recovery.

I totally agree...the Stones have a lotta gall going out on tour at their age. Seriously, good luck and may skilled hands and low insurance costs carry the day.

I made it! Feeling surprisingly well, thanks to the Oxycodone and my lovely wife who has been taking care of me nonstop all day.
I'm really dizzy, but it's a good dizzy!
Duane - I wonder how many albums we have the same of. Tommy Bolin was very popular here in Minnesota for a brief time around '76, partly because he was originally from South Dakota, partly because he was amazing. His brother played drums in a local Twin Cities band called DVC at the time.
Sam - i had kidney stones too a few years ago. That was waywaywayway worse than this.
And thanks to everyone for your support!
-Greg

I just saw your post today Steg and realized I didn't have a chance to wish you well prior to surgery ..........Anyway, I a m Glad to see you came through relatively unscathed and are getting some well deserved pampering 8^)
Kick back, relax and wait for the gall bladder to dry out and see how it sounds!
