The way they were - will it ever come around again
I just purchased 9 CD collection of songs that were hits between 1955 and 1965. The TV advert alone was enough to convince me that I would have hours of fun listening.
It suddenly struck me that these were songs that my mother, my self and even my kids would all appreciate. Songs we often sung together and still do. I knew most of them well enough to sing along to including the lyrics. Real tunes, superb memorable hooks, so much emotion. The happy songs make me sad and the sad songs make me happy and nostalgic.
I will never tire of these song. I can't imagine this generational 'appreciation' thing will ever happen again.
