How faithfully do you check New Releases?
I have tried to keep up to the New Releases, but I have to sit there at the computer and click on each one manually, and I find that I don't last long because mostly I listen to music while lying on the couch, or while doing something else. So I have to get up or run to the computer for each song.
Even if I'm at the computer, I have to stop what I'm doing to find the front page and select the next song. It's so much easier to go to someone's page or station and hit Stream All.
And oh yeah, can I have a remote control to operate the player from the couch too. (just kidding)
How much dedication do you have for New Releases?

I skip through em a little..
Mostly though I like to listen to the folks who post here because it's interesting to read a little of what thy have to say and then listen to a few songs...
Really though my strategy for listening has been to narrow down a genre and listen to a dozen or so tunes . Like I'll go to Ambient and then click anything that has the word "jazz" in the title.
Or go to guitar instrumental and click everything that has "acoustic" in the title..
or "jazz"..
heh..
It's interesting to me the words people use to describe their music...even when you narrow it down like this there is a great deal of difference in what these pieces will be about.
But It does strike a certain mood.

I have to admit that I don't check the New Releases as often as I 'should'. When I do though, I tend to look for names I recognise, then interesting titles (of groups or songs), then 'genres' that appeal to me. I don't listen to everything that comes down 'the pike', but I hit a fair number of new songs. It's a great way of finding new artists and hearing the 'freshest' tracks.
Incidentally, A 'band' that I'm working in has a new song up. It's a version of "St. James Infirmary" by Bonsai Chainsaw, and we'd be interested in any critiques.

Yeah, I can't check them all.
I'll listen to a song at least until the break or chorus, and I usually know by then if it's something I like. If someone puts one of my tunes on their station, I'll scroll down to see what other cool tunes that person has that I may not have heard yet. It's all relative fair play or "playing".... ya know.

That's the sort of thing I'm talking about, Duane. It's almost impossible to check out everything in it's entirety, so one has to 'pick and choose'. (said Steve, posting as himself)
