Imperial Artists Company
Recently, I had a number 1 song on independent artists company's Psychedelic Retro Alternative Chart. Instead of leaving a "I'd like to thank god and all of the fans" cliche ass comment on the page . I instead drew attention to the fact that the world was heading to hell on a giant flaming crapapolt. To my surprise a couple of artists attacked me for "not being more positive and blissfully suburban and unaware. I then stated that even if you were a positive person high on religion, money and "the American way" that didn't mean that around the world, and here, a loaded politician or mugger, or cop high on power couldn't ruin your life in a blink of an eye. Or that Africa, Australia, Hawaii, and other spots had been stolen along with north and south America from its indigenous people by large groups of blissful white, and Zionist, rich, power manipulating psychos that are using other half cocked and murderous power hungry indigenous leaders to commit genocide and horrors beyond imagination in the name of god, and if that doesn't work then they just declare war. Upon mentioning this on the site, I had again a group of so called "independent artists" tell me that I was wrong. The Africans had killed and enslaved themselves along with the Indians and the Incas, and Aztecs, and another thousand tribes I could mention throughout history and that currently in Greece, and Bangkok all of those rioting people were really wrong and greedy... Shocked, I argued. Ironically... the "independent artists" removed all of the comments, and then stopped letting people comment altogether. Maybe they should call the site Imperial Artists dot com. Some may state or argue that the forum was inappropriate for such a discussion. I find it awfully amusing that artists now a days have completely sold out on every level. Not only do they put stock in the fact that some how being on the charts of an internet site that basically amounts to did-ally in the real world is and should be respected like an Oscar or a spirit award, but they probably really believe that it matters to their 3 fans. How dare we blasphemy such a medium with talk of revolution and historic atrocities. I don't know how many fucking wing nuts from Shitsburg, Illinois and Wideass, Indiana actually believe there is such a thing as a record contract or a publishing contract or a "record deal" anymore or "being famous" is a real thing with any importance, but I can assure you as a working musician and writer and actor in Hollywood that it doesn't.Times have changed. Dreaming of making it big in New York and Hollywood is the equivalent of wanting to be as shallow and important as a Paris Hilton tampon shoved inside of a Miley Cyrus blow up doll. Those times are gone forever, the internet has leveled all playing fields, but in the worst possible way. Tila tequila, Survivor, Perez Hilton the Kardashians etc... all are examples of people becoming famous for merely having money, an inflatable ass, bisexual for cash and attention and or being gay and literate with a big mouth (even bigger than words coming out from around a mouthed penis) Record deals and the back of cereal box dreams is for narcissistic sociopaths that fell in love with what the publicity machines of the Beatles and the Olympics were selling them as kids. Have some fucking integrity. Unless you are 15, have an uncle with a recognizable last name, and want to have no anonymity or elasticity left in your vagina or asshole, get over the fact that there are more important things to discuss then your fucking music on a make believe chart on a make believe site, that in all honesty has more appeal then any other make believe site, but in reality is no ASCAP award. As a member of Aftra, ASCAP, and SAG, and having a father that is a film producer of such movies as Kiss Of The Spider woman and Ciao Manhattan I can honestly say that it's an extraordinary amount of hard work just to get into those guilds to begin with. I also know that even with all of my hard work and connections in the business it still didn't open any doors or make anything any easier for me. you literally have to be 15 years old and willing to do a 'Britney Spears' to even have a career these days, and who wants to come across has being that whorish and stupid, let alone bear kevin federlines spent seed. Corporations don't want to back an artist that has a brain, or any integrity because they don't stand to make any money off of someone that will and can figure out that they're being sold out, manipulated and controlled. that's why so many rich artists are, young, stupid, and self destructive. CEO's don't care about lives, only sales. I'm sick of listening to these artists from middle America or generations of old, or even these new young ridiculous spoiled kids and all of your hand me down self help philosophy that has been programmed for you by the greatest demolished dream that's ever existed. The American Dream. You know what they tell you to know, and you are as happy as they let you be, period. If I hear one more fucking spent dildo say " the world is what you make it so think positive" I'm going to shit in my hand and finger paint a series of paintings that will easily make me as famous and positive has half of you fucking turtle doves chirp repeatedly that you are on your way to being. Even though you're over 35, still rewriting the same sad song over and over again in new genre re-inventing and shattering methods, and perched for fame at the same exact place that you were 15 years ago. Your parent's basement. Here's your reality check. your music was mediocre and unsellable then, and nothing has changed except for your wrinkle count and diet. Lets tell that African kid who is about 10 and born with AIDS, dead parents, and into a village of war and starvation that "he's not thinking positive enough". You strip mall 9-5 American simpleton. It's idiots like you that make this world as hopeless and illiterate as it seems

I popped by today to see if there was anybody foolish enough to still be believing in this place - and I am really glad that I chanced upon this - a real pleasure to read a post by someone who isn't afraid to tell it like it is, who isn't so self-righteous and self-obsessed that he thinks that all is still sunshine and glory in the land. Reality check people - neither iac or the planetary siuation are quite what many here seem to believe they are - all is not a bed of roses - rip-offs happen - wakey wakey....

nicely done. Cool to see Satch chime in too.

ME? I've got nothing worthy or intelligent to add.

Just had to say: that rant deserves a FEW reads, folks.

Nice to read something that has blood pumping through it (and spraying out of it - makes you look at the blood on your own hands). I both loved and hated it, but I damn sure THOUGHT about it. As a result I clicked and listened.

I know, I know, it's not for everybody. Peace and love has it's place, as do technical discussions and supporting each other. BUT - it is nice to, on occassion, think to yourself "who the fuck is this guy and what is his fucking deal?" and want to find out.

Ever hear of risk / reward ratio? As a plain old douchebag General Public, I risk my time when I poke around on the internet. Sometimes there is reward, though.

Nothing wrong with eggmen and walrus (walrii?) but sometimes you hanker for a little blood, piss and fire. Gotta go now, I think I am going to have a nice bowl of World Dominance for breakfast, enjoy my ill-gotten gains and watch Rome burn. Then, maybe a nap.

Wow, Horus, your words are like heavy Beat poetry. (sound of finger snaps)

You seem to have a lot of anger issues. You have many valid points, but just spewing anger out into the world doesn't make it a better place. Have you got any positive criticism - or just anger? It's good to be able to vent now and then, but to add something good to the world is not a bad thing either.

Congratulations on having that #1. It may not be worth much, but it's an achievement, and it makes your life richer if you let all the little achievements add up.

Don't confuse my tone for anger. I was merely being blunt. I think people like yourself probably often confuse people speaking the truth and being honest for "anger" because, like most Americans, you've grown used to being hand fed a hearty sack of oats on your way to slaughter, so when a cow next to you rips off their mouth sack and screams "wake up" you get confused and think they are angry, they're not, it's called voicing your opinion about what's really happening all around us. You want to see angry? Take a trip to Bangkok. you want to see achievement? Watch a legless kid from Africa or Asia learn how to walk on an amputated limb. Having a number 1 song on an internet site is not an achievement, it's rather a process of elongated elimination, and frankly just being in line from the get go. Even the fat retarded kid at the end of the line at the drinking faucet will eventually be first in line and drinking. Whoever told you his life would be richer after-wards probably invented the bronze medal and the special Olympics.

Dear Jeff Allen Myers;

I stopped buying into things like the serenity prayer Jeff when my IQ reached 153 at around the age of 10. Because what floats my boat "bro"? is reality. Not fucking santa clause, the easter bunny or some guy on a cloud throwing lightning bolts and raining frogs.

I would break my rants into paragraphs for you, but what would be the use? Do you really think formatting my rant for someone that believes in invisible deities would some how matter to you or me.

Here's an idea, when you get to be a big boy that can take responsibility for his own actions and not instead put it all off on Jesus to instead forgive your short comings, perhaps we'll talk. Up until that point in time I'd feel more comfortable talking with adults that don't put that fate of the world in the the hands of invisible gods and monsters, but instead actually get off their asses and do something for themselves. I'll being praying for that Jeff. I'll be praying for people like you to stop believing in fairies, holy ghosts, and eating the body and drinking the blood of deities, to instead shut the fuck up, and teach children not to have faith in war and blood thirsty gods, but to have faith in the knowledge and strength of their minds. So that they might teach others to grow food, and find fresh water. Not sit on their asses in church every sunday before plopping down to eat some KFC, and talk about pastor billy bobs sermon about how jesus needs more money for a new church steeple. Which translates that pastor bob is a little short on tithing to pay off his local pimp and drug dealer.

The Serenity prayer is not wise Jeff. It's trite, cliche, and predictable. Any historian could quote a million heartier examples of the same thing, just better written. I am hardly miserable, I am a retired navy SEAL with a lovely wife and three great kids. I'm just sick of having third rate hacks like yourself throwing quotes at me like they know what in the fuck is going on when they don't. As an Agnostic you should know better. Have you read the Gnostic bibles? No. do you know who Manley P. Hall is? No. Do you know what logos is? No. If you did? We would be laughing right now and not bickering, because, unlike you, I can't stand people that think they're something that they're not. Christians, that don't know Jesus' origins. Agnostics that don't know shit about the gnostic bible or Simon the mage throwing around serenity prayers at people... like it's fucking cute or funny, go fuck yourself idiot. It's ridiculous man. How dare you try to lessen or justify my anger or position with your fucking third rate drivel. I've traveled the world and seen serious shit. I've killed men, and I've watched men die, I've defended this country and watched this country not defend me or my brothers that have died for this shit hole, and I'm telling you that your bullshit, is bullshit. Some men are angry Jeff because they want to be, and because that's how problems get solved. By managed and focused passion and anger. It's called friction, and it makes mountains and deserts. It's not of your fucking business to figure out, or try to help, or downplay my rant or anger Jeff, because it didn't involve you, and if it did? Good. I can gurantee that if you walked a mile in my shoes you'd get it, but you haven't. I'm angry for my friends and family that have sacrificed everything for asshats like yourself Jeff, so that you can turn around and tell us to have some serenity in the lord and blah blah blah... Fuck you. No educated man uses the word "bros" or hands out the serenity prayer Jeff. That's just gay. Okay? Fucking gay. Don't confuse anger, for believing in something, and if someone is angry? Let them be, especially if it doesn't involve you and it's none of your fucking business. Do you see me on your songs, or on your blogs handing out serenity prayers and calling you "bros" or dude? Trying to be all impartial and complacent. No, know why? Because I know better, and I have respect. you on the other are indeed a lemming, and you do what lemmings do. Stick your fucking nose in guillotines and then wonder why you can't smell the roses. I've never met a fellow agnostic or atheist with half a brain that would even humorously tell someone to go read the serenity prayer. Unless they were joking.

Humans are funny ... it's all a matter of interpretation ... I saw the original rant in two parts ... maybe others saw it differently ...

Part one ...
Basically I took Horace's first statement as being the gist of "Hey were ego driven people and even though I reached #1 here, it's really pretty insignificant" ... It doesn't do much for the world and such ... etc. etc. etc.

Part two ...
We all are aware that the world is and always has been ruled by tyrants and greed and basically we are all at the mercy of their whim ...
We just don't like to admit it ... we think that we matter ... again it's our egos trying to convince us that somehow we are important ... think about it, 40 years after were dead do you think anyone is going to remember us ? People STILL know the name Ivan the terrible ... or Jeffrey Dahmer ... Has anything we've done going to be recognized ... probably not, but much will be remembered about a lot of folks who weren't talented but had the inside cards ...

Now I get to add part three because something bothered me about the serenity prayer and that is why I came back to write ... only to find it has been discussed at a greater depth here ...

The serenity prayer may be fine for some to calm down, get a grip or whatever ... but if we all lived our lives like that, nothing would ever change ... it is pretty much a "me" prayer ... the true Independents throughout history bucked this theory ... for the betterment of all mankind, not their own serenity ... If these people had not existed we would not have things like rock-n-roll ... We would have no freedom of thought ... and even though we have that, most choose not to use it, or at least not internally without being skewed by what they see on their big screen T.V.'s .. sigh

I value ALL opinions ... I do not know it all ... I like to have fun and I like to be positive, but some of the greatest things I have ever read were not so positive ... Tell me there are not many truths in Horace's first post ... We like to dismiss true history and create our own, we like to appease our deep consciences ... Here in this country we like to proclaim being PROUD Americans ... we are a conceited lot at best ...

That doesn't mean we can't smile, make music, love and all the rest but reflection of the world around us can do the mind good sometimes ...

Accept the things I cannot Change
Courage to CHANGE the things I can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.

There is nothing religious about that if you accept it on its face, and disengage it from all things celestial. It just makes good sense. I can bitch, stress, rant, and basically get my blood pressure up over alot of things that I cannot change. Those are wasted emotions,it extends to the trivial as well as to the profound. "The Courage to Change the things I can" speaks of action and empowerment instead of simply bitching. Accepting something does not mean you "approve", it is simply accepting the realization that you have no power to change the problem..at that time, at that place., It then has no power over you. No increased heart rate, blood pressure, or anger. Most people fail on number two, they have the power to initiate real change , but do nothing about it. Ironically Horace touched on this several times.

I don't disagree with alot of what has been said Sam, it just comes off as unstable anger. The last thing I need is a pissed off Navy seal imprinting rage on me.

So , whatever,

Horace I was addressing Sam, please forgive my trespass on your blog.

ahhhhh but who or how does one determine what one can change ? ... Maybe there are things that SHOULD be changed ... and maybe as individuals we can't change them ... but if a bunch of us thought we could ... things can be changed ...
It's all in our own set of priorities ... or what boundaries we put our lives in ...
I'm not saying everyone should become a Martyr ... but we could all probably do more ...

It's okay to be angry Jeff. Whoever told you that it wasn't was either not human, or a pussy. I am angry really about the state of my country, how the world percieves me because of it, how my children will in the future etc. No offense but there comes a time in a man's life Jeff where he needs to stand for something and not just throw quotes around like some fucking stoned hippy. 8 years of Bush's, really about 24 if you count his years as vice and CIA director. And Nixon, Kissinger. I really can't see how you can sit there quoting bullshit at a time when whet you should be quoting is George Washington, and Ben Franklin. Our children's education is driven by money. The rich get richer and smarter, and the poor get put to work and disabled. Do you have a quote for that? See, your folly is in thinking I hate or I am angry. I am angry, but not like I'm going to kick your ass high school angry and or 'shit'. I often cuss a lot, or tell people to go fuck themselves without being angry or violent. It's American. I am a poet. What I'm talking about is that right now, out there, there is an agenda that involves mind fucking you and your kids that is being beamed into every radio and tv and computer all day every day. I just think the people behind it should be brought before their peers for an explanation.

No one said a damn thing about "not" getting angry Horace, or being a "Pacifist". We are all Human, we all get angry, its how we funnel that anger that makes a difference.

Some people blow up shit, shoot people, abuse their wives and Kids....... not saying that is you, I am not going there, I know nothing about you. so please let's not go down that road.

Some people relieve stress and blow off steam by ranting, yelling, ....

We are all HUMAN. I get pissed all the time, in fact you pissed me off big time...but do I have any power over what you write? (I think you were a bit over the top by the way...but thats neither here nor there) So I will simply move on, My Bad.

However, things within my control are dealt with ...daily.. :)

Anyway, I am rambling, Yea....the World sucks, there is greed....evil, debauchery, but I am going to Play with my Son tonight and sleep well knowing there are things within the same World that are incredible.

Are we leaving the next generation any hope or just a trillion tonnes of TNT 70 year old nuclear destruction. What if the next generation denounced war and any research into it what would they do if they knew nothing about this tech. If it became irrelevant as another basis for production of energy became the normality clean and with no side effects. Everybody loves there kids with all there heart and soul but what are we leaving them. Will they watch the television of this era with envy as they are forced into smaller and smaller areas because of our nuclear nightmare that we left them. Firstly

as a one finger typist I respect anyone who can take the time to type a blog that long, and still make sense

Secondly
as a non american I can vouch for the fact that those who voted for BUSHCO can expect some more years of shit and humiliation cos ewe have landed the world in deep shit-------- so be very humble and take some responsibility

words from a speech by a true leader ---Franklin D Roosevelt Jan 6 1941
(although he was a politician)

At no pevious time has American security been as seriously threatened from without as it is today---
instead of invoking the fear of "outsiders" he embraced their needs, and called for defending-- not just America but all the earth with the --4 freedoms

Four Freedoms

Freedom of speech and expression Bushco ---agree with us or be danmed
Freedom of religion Bushco---only one religion
Freedom from fear Bushco---be very fucking afraid
Freedom from want Bushco---we are the elite, fuck ewe!

He also warned that it was immature and untrue to brag that America single handed, and with one hand tied behind it's back, can hold off the whole world
"such a peace would bring no security for us or our neighbors. Those who would
give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety"

This attitude would have spelled treason under Bushco

And back to Horace8

#1s are a tiny little treat, in a fucked up political / accountants world, well done!

carry on

Bush was a criminal, but syntax means everything in politics ... where crime against humanity is legal until the next power condemns the actions of the prior and takes to task.

Freedoms are impinged upon by the government as the corporatacracy (that's a new word, so spell check won't recognize it) continues to creep and overtake real power in America. We've a system that yields to even perceived power (even if familial, which is why certain criminals aren't being criminalized and smacks of royalty) and inhuman ... or perhaps more precisely "unhuman" powers that be are buying control of governmental power. When it's all about business, it's all about business.

It's easy to abuse humanity when the legal body assuming power is corporeal ... there's no muss, no fuss ... no messy bleeding.

Nice to make your acquaintance, H.

I wasn't tested. They can go fuck themselves with their test, I don't have to take no stinking test.

Now that we have a full flung fist fight (awesome) I would like to throw in the following:

1. There is no peace? Amen. Never has been, never will be. The Aztecs were just as fond of bashing people's brains in as we are. Glorifying them is just as stupid as not recognizing what "we" are. You don't get to the top of the food chain by being Mary Poppins.

2. Aethism is just another religion. It's all well and good, but relentless chest beating about it is just as boring as Bible thumping. I would agree that religion has always been a major contributor to war, but if it were removed, aethists would bash each other's brains in over SOMETHING. Religion's true relationship to war is really just a flag to fight under. Any flag will do.

3. Bushco may be guilty, but they had a lot of "Brand X" allies (and still do). Wake up and smell the fascism. Wave a red flag, wave a blue flag, cheer the babyface or the heel, whatever floats your boat. They are all working from the same script.

4. I agree that we DO NOT TREAT OUR WARRIORS WITH RESPECT. It's fucked up.

It's great to see some tough, uncomfortable, intellectual sword fighting going on. Stinks of humanity, smells of art. Enjoy it while you can, you will soon be returned to your regularly scheduled programming.

There is nothing wrong with
"You're great, I mean it"
"Thanks, but YOU are the one that's great"
"That's great. You are awesome"
"Awesome, that is so great"

But, it was time for a change. Kick down the door and blow up the windows, let some fresh air in.

I am kinda shocked that there is so much intellectual elbow room being given. I would have thought this thread would be thrown into the weedy ditch by now - must be somebody's day off?

Maybe this fire will draw some of the other Mothras out (are you there, Bruce? Calling Monster Island. Do you read?)

The peace I speak of is between Individuals, the individuals that cross paths here. The musicians/artists/poets.

I see that is near impossible within the pseudo-intellectual sycophant stroke fest here.

Thanks for the support Dan. :)

I am not an Atheist, I am an Agnostic, and to counter what has been said earlier, there is not a "required" reading list to have that frame of mind. The whole point is to think for yourself, and not be solely influenced by what is accepted as doctrine, scholarly, or imaginative.

Hi Lyin' Dan ... I think you're so funny.

I so get it.

Out of element is out.

I'm so glad I insulted everyone who doesn't get what I just said.

... and I wasn't even talking to anyone particular.

If we really wanted to rant about something that matters more than all that political crap, we could rant about the medical profession. What a bunch of shitholes!

(Don't tell the bastards I said that next time I'm in the hospital!)

Great Rant! Anger is very fashionable these days. From the angry tea party hordes to all those Java enthusiasts who lustfully salivate at any opportunity to sport a .357 magnum in their local Starbucks. Yeah! being pissed off is quite a thrill. I just sit there marveling at them with that wtf look on my face. I guess I am old enough to know that getting angry could cause me to have another stroke and moved me on to the next existence swiftly. I know I have to go but I ain't in no hurry. Feel me? I mean, I can still have sex without the need of some pill and my wife still has that satisfied look on her face. My life still has a purpose man! So, I guess I read your post with aged envy. I wish I could be like that again. I wish I could march on Washington again or hurl another rock at the national guards who took over my neighborhood in 1968. Now, there was some anger! We were so pissed about everything that we actually made a difference. We burned up an entire neighborhood and demanded freedom. In return they gave us some government cheese, a bunch of empty promises and then shipped our asses off to fight a war. Hahaha! One of democracies finest moments. One of angers most glaring victories. Say it loud! I'm Black and I'm proud. But I am not a true American unless I am willing to kill the enemy, any enemy they say is the enemy. Back then that enemy was the communists in Viet Nam. Today they say the enemy is Juan and Jose who don't mind mowing my lawn for a few bucks each month. Everything is their fault now. True patriots are patting themselves on the back when they take one out with a secret call to immigration.

Anger certainly has its merits. Us old fossils who use to turn on, out and off in 3 days of psychedelic bliss. We lost our edge a long time ago. We were so angry that we had to escape this world and create a new world in our minds. That was actually kind of fun. It was cool to look into the mirror and see a White man with tiny lips staring back at me. For a moment there I actually thought I had good credit and the police were my friends. We blamed everyone and everything for the conditions of the world. Blame and anger are married you know? They have kids named bigotry, hatred, violence, murder and of course religion. What better way to justify bigotry, hatred and violence than with religion? You know? We will love you if you become one of us. But, you will never be equal to us because we are pure and you are a savage from American plains or an African village. Believe what we believe but get your ass out there in that field and pick that cotton boy. I own you, your family and every generation that comes behind you. Anger is very prosperous to. 400 years of free labor ain't shabby man. You can build a whole country with that kind of economic help.

Yes, anger has done so much for us. So many people are pissed about so many things. Arguments rage all over the net. I read them daily and I laugh after I cry because I don't even know why I give a....... Sometimes I want to jump in and defend God. Then I do what I was taught to do growing up in Watts Ca. I sit back and let him fight his own battles. He doesn't need me for that. Only a punk needs help in a fist fight. God ain't no punk. I'm the one begging him for some peace when I try to lay down to sleep in the midst of PTSD enduced memories of death and destruction. I'm the one who thanks him when I wake up the next morning refreshed and ready to try to be human again. But I don't mind hearing people say they don't believe in him. Hey, whatever floats your boat right? Actually not believing is a belief or faith. I mean people faithfully don't believe. I know, I know, I'm a bit scatter brained and often I don't make much sense. That just means I'm old dude.

I am a retired prison chaplain. My church was always full and I never had to take a collection. I am also a former leader of a notorious street gang. I have been from one side of the pendulum to the other. The bullet holes and knife wounds in my body hurt like hell in the winter time. But the ability to love myself keeps me safe from myself all year round. Sure, in my heart I want go out and fight some more. I care about AIDS, starving Africans, Native Americans on reservations, global warming, oil spills, government corruption, bigotry, amnesty, terrorism and on and on and on. But I'm tired man. Too much anger will probably kill me.

So, I applaud your anger. I may not agree with everything you rant about. As a matter of fact a lot of what you say doesn't really move me. Yet, you do say a whole lot so statically that should be expected right? However, I respect the fact that you are willing to stand up and say wtf. The world IS very messed up. People like to talk about the good old days. But I don't remember any good old days. The world I saw was always ,messed up. Someone was always angry. Often I was the angry one and I enjoyed kicking asses and getting my ass kicked back in the day. Nothing makes you feel more alive than to feel blood gushing from your neck while you beat the hell out of the guy who just stabbed you. But now? Hell I am on blood thinners to keep me from having another stroke. So, I avoid battles like the plague. I prefer to die from natural causes.

I just write music these days. I know I will never make a million bucks. I don't need a million bucks. My house is paid for now and my studio is my own personal place of creativity, reflection and musically orgasmic riffs on my guitar, keys, horns and voice. I don't care about being commercial. I just write whatever I feel. It's hard to be angry when you have almost everything you ever wanted. I earned this shit man. I fought my battles, won a few and lost a lot. Now it's your turn. You should be pissed! Your anger is warranted because you can still see beyond the dream. Beyond "his" story and beyond some media laced fairytale. One of the greatest philosophers once said "Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow". His name is George Clinton.

I don't know you but I wish I could be you for a day.
