Would like to add that I just visited the "Soulo" page and was surprised to see that this topic had been discussed before - I missed it. It occurred to me to offer a song by Raymond Porter - You Were The One and one of my own, Our Love. I have a couple of tunes which are directly about loss, but you are WISELY choosing to CELEBRATE so I hope these songs shall provide a nice balance.
I'm also compelled to offer just a bit more love.
Best wishes to you all, and as far as I'm concerned a few posts about an event like this is not in any way disrespectful to anybody.
Rock on,
Hugh

Tommy,
So sorry to hear of your loss, I admire your celebratory approach to this difficult event. So often when a loved one passes away we mourn our own loss instead of truly celebrating the life and achievements of the person we have loved.
I can't issue any magic words or platitudes to lessen your loss. Since both my parents are now gone, I can at least empathize with your situation. I see that a few songs have been offered up for you, I don't have much here that I would deem appropriate. You might try Lars Mars "Summer Sun" which was written about two people's lives together and the love they share over the years.
May your sorrow be brief and your good memories eternal.
Kurt
