Happy Holidays and a few thoughts
I want to express a heartfelt congratulations to all of the Golden Kayak nominees and a hearty thank you to Scott Stambough, Neil W. Young and Dave Walton. They have all done a great job of holding this glorious circus together. It's obviously a selfless labor of love, love of music and musicians, love of community and a love of freedom of expression.
I'd also like to acknowledge the efforts of all the IMP employees behind the scenes who keep the gears turning with such efficiency. Finally I want to thank everyone who voted for me. I feel humbled and blessed and VERY surprised!!
I live my life by the lyrics in the songs that I love, so I won't pontificate as to any advice I'd like to impart to all my friends here but I'll let Curtis Mayfield tell it like it is:

Thank you for the nod, Richard, along with Scott and Dave Walton who have poured countless hours and effort into IAC/IMP as have the not to be forgotten elves behind the scenes. For me it has always been the music and the members as my primary focus and raison d'être in my capacity at IAC/IMP.
Again, hearty congratulations on your nominations. I share the sentiments you have expressed - humbled, blessed and very surprised, reflecting thanks and appreciation for the support awarded in this special way by our peers at IMP.
I wish you the best of luck in the 2017 GK Awards and as you continue your great indie journey.
