Here's something fun to think about.
I know artists don't much like when they are asked to pinpoint what their best song is. However in this thought exercise you've somehow landed a gig at the best imaginable venue for you, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, what have you. You get to do 10 songs, and there are no issues between getting that done, you can bring in paid bandmates and such and they all play good. You can do cover songs also. What would your 10 song set be?
Neg Ten would close with Missing Link and Blame. The first 8 songs?

And why on Earth would I do a cover song for an encore? And why this one?!
I admit to always - ALWAYS - being a bit of a cover song freak. I once listened to about 20 different versions of Caravan in a row, all different.
So I would bust loose this song because, having seen The Grateful Dead many times, I witnessed firsthand how it could whip a crowd into a frenzy. Like the congregation in a Southern church speaking in tongues and dancing uncontrollably. This song can do that.

A concert like that would go out in a blaze for me. I would hit them over the head with the funk and just keep knocking them around until the night is over.
