Thanks Again
Now that the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared, I would like to again offer our sincere and deepest thanks to all of you for your recognition of the Rhythm Kings in last night's Award Show. To say it meant a lot to us is an understatement, and I freely admit I was gob smacked to the point of illiteracy in my previous attempt to say thanks.....
The irony is we don't even know for sure how we got here (we suspect it was one of the engineers from the sessions on our last EP who created an artist page for us, and put 'The Journey' out here.) We had never heard of IMP until we got an email that 'The Journey' had been picked up by a station here. But when we came to the site and checked it out, it was like coming home.
There is so much value in having a venue for our songs, to know someone is listening and the tunes aren't just languishing in a computer somewhere, unheard. And to know it is our songwriting peers who are doing the listening that drives us to want to write, perform and record better. There is so much talent here (I heard some really good songs on the show last night.) I know we've all been stymied to a greater or lesser degree by the Good Ol' Boys who don't want us cutting into their income streams (I'm so old I remember when music was an art form not a commodity.) Ain't it great to be able to come here?
So, thanks again to all of you who supported us, and major thanks to Scott and the staff at IMP for keeping the indie flame burning. Count us in for helping out in any way we can in the coming year.
And to each and every one of you, our best wishes for success in 2017, by whatever means you measure it.
