Firestorm in Southern California
Folks, The conditions here are the worst I have seen it in the over 40 years I have lived in Southern California. I thought my house was going to blow down last night! Today temperatures are going to be in the 90's, with a fierce wind.
I work in San Diego, I have one way to get there from my home... Intertate 15. It is closed in both directions so I cannot get to work. The Firefighters are going to use the Interstate as a firebreak to possibly keep the flames from jumping it and burn to the Ocean.
Many Homes are presently threatned, as well as people I work with. I don't believe Flames will ever approach my home, but with these conditions, anything is Possible.
Please Pray for the Fighefighters on the Front Lines, and for the people in danger of losing their homes.
Its going to be a terrible...Long Day.

A quarter of a Million people have evacuated.... I can't go outside as the air quality is terrible, the smell of smoke...you can taste it...

SAN DIEGO—Wildfires have forced evacuations of nearly 250,000 people from their homes in San Diego County alone as more than a dozen blazes engulfed Southern California, authorities said Monday.
The fires have burned about 100,000 acres in San Diego County, said county Supervisor Ron Roberts. "This is a major emergency," he said.
"We have more houses burning than we have people and engine companies to fight them," said San Diego Fire Captain Lisa Blake. "A lot of people are going to lose their homes today."

I will do my prayers for you tonight and the whole area out there. I am part Native American and we pray a little differently but a prayer is a prayer. And not to be using any injun jokes but I hope it rains.

Wow, I didn't realize it was so bad - it's so easy to get lost in our own little world & not know what is going on outside of it. We've been having nothing but rain in Vancouver - I sure wish it would go to you where you need it.
Anyway - hope you can stay safe.....please keep us posted. Even after this is all over, which it will be ... there will be much need.

As I was watching coverage of these fires last night in Arizona, the fire marshall here said that he has offered assistance with manpower and fire trucks and equipment but California doesn't want the help. What's up with that ?

We are asking for help from anyone that can supply it..not sure why he would say such a thing, but it is blatently false.
California Firefighters routinley go to other states when needed, and our neigboring states do the same. Last I heard we had many agencies sending help...
We have another full day of perfect fire conditions....more fires have broken out since my last post.
Thanks for the well wishes, I will keep you updated.
