The biggest security risk the US has seen in the last century
was McCain naming Palin as his running mate. It's been 2 days since the election and the Republicans have been coming clean with the utter horror of her VP candidacy. Most recently it was revealed that she didn't know Africa is a continent, she didn't know what countries were involved in NAFTA, and so on and so on. How interesting that workers from her own campaign deemed her a hillbilly when they were on the other hand trying to pass her off as qualified. I believe if McCain had been elected, and suddenly died, America would have been doomed as a country with her in charge. How could it not have been?
I would probably post this on one of the other threads but Sterling30 removes every single post I make on his blogs at this point (because they make him look stupid, I presume.) The point is, he was an utter Palin groupie which shows more than anything how little credibility he has.
He keeps posting about his fears of socialism and terrorist sympathizing and other compromises that his paranoid self thinks Obama would make cause he read this in wacko publications, but he had no fear about Palin being the most powerful person in the world. How totally foolish.

It's all complete BS. Palin's only wrong are thought crimes. If she was a whacked out leftist lunatic the press would be doting on her. But instead she is a strong political force with a real vision that will insure America's survival and independence well into the future.., that's why she is feared so much and the smear campaign by the media will not stop until they have politically destroyed her.

Yeah, she is pretty good looking but I especially like the fact she's determined to free this country from foreign oil though I doubt she'll be able to.
Watch what happens to her in Alaska. Move On & Co have no intention on letting up on her because we're living in the USSA now. They are again going to do everything imaginable to destroy her politically, mark my words.

My point remains, Sterling, that you want to pounce on every ridiculous fear-mongering angle the right wing loony press spews out, and go around trying to generate anxiety about Obama being president, when you seemingly have no aptitude to recognize that Palin was obviously the single most incompetent individual who ever got this close to the presidency.

I do think that says a lot about the man. That and the concession speech reminded me of why I liked him in the first place. The campaign just got ugly and I think that he listened to the Republican handlers a bit too much and went too negative.
Despite your affection for her, I do think that Palin was a terrible choice for VP running mate and hurt him significantly. If the party had simply allowed McCain to be who he is, he would have had a better shot at winning. I'm thinking that the GOP thinks that they have a better shot at letting Obama take over the White House now, with the country in a shambles, then blaming him for not fixing the mess left for him by Bush, et. al. It'll give them a better shot in '12. Strategic move and all.
It might prove to be a good strategic move, if that is the case, because it is an uphill battle, for sure. But I, for one, am hoping for simply the best for the country and for the world.

There's always a tendency by the losing camp to try to place blame for the loss.
What is leaking out now about Palin was always my suspicion, which is why I couldn't have ever have voted for that ticket ... and I didn't. Who would have wanted that level of ignorance in the White House?
Yet, I don't blame Palin for the loss.
I blame whoever it was that fateful Friday who turned to the leaders of John McCain's campaign and said:
"Oh yeah, we vetted her; and he's PERFECT!!!"
I believe THOSE guys were actually working for the Democrats.

I think the biggest security risk lately is the voters giving the Democrats the presidency AND majorities in both houses of Congress. Mark my words.
Here's the beginning - Harry Reid is gunning for Joe Lieberman and accusing him of impropriety for going against his party. This is one of the problems with party politics, and it's only the beginning.

Forgot to address the main point.
The Republicans failed miserably, in conjunction with their Democratic associates across the aisle. The biggest threats we face are the internal ones, primarily failed leadership. As one example - the banking crisis. In short - the government guarantees the banks - thus has an obligation to regulate them. If the banks fail, it is because the regulators failed.
The system is broken. Both parties have failed. Neither party has the answers. Just one man's opinion.

What needs to be done is to shut off the money supply from this clown or America's future will be for sale to the highest bidder come every election. He lied about Iraq, played that ridiculous game with John when they walked through Baghdad with a camera crew and with a couple hundred troops covering them to make a show of how "peaceful" it was and what a "success" the effort was.
That game got several civilians murdered, those poor vendors they were filmed and bought rugs and stuff from were killed by radicals the next night for appearing to promote US propaganda.
