Been doing research on Ai assisted songs
So I have started using Suno Ai as some of you may know, I have been watching videos on it the recent lawsuits that have been dropped by major labels against Suno and vice versa
Suno stance was that it was fair use doing the scraping of songs from various labels catalogs
below article from August 2025
"Scraping data off the web is massively denounced by companies, especially music labels, but Suno is defending its actions as it is currently facing a lawsuit from three major global labels. The latest lawsuit is against Suno and another music generation platform, Udio, who both allegedly scraped data from songs found on the web for their AI training, to which Suno admitted to.
It was revealed by the music generation platform that songs found on the internet are "fair use," and this is against labels building legal training by obtaining licenses."
the above is an recent an article from August all lawsuits have been dropped now and each side is working some kind of agreement out, so i think this is a good sign
I dont make up songs using Suno, I use my own recordings and sent in the lyrics for uploading to Suno. I was asked by the system is this your original song, I said yes and embedded in their questionnaire when it was written and that I was the composer and owned the rights to the song, and the original recording
I uploaded the song Gotta get a Message and did some suggestions and Suno came out with a great arrangement. my piano playing was kept for all intents and purposes and i also had my vocals in the original with strings and a bit of bass. So it came out more Soul . r and b easy listen , it is like hiring musicians who work for you in a studio,
I have the pro one i subscribed to and can download the mp3 wave and do other things and have recent dumped the new version in to my DAW I use and encoded the composer song name isrc , all the other essentials that are necessary to send the song to various places, for it to be read by places where I will upload the song for distribution to radio stations commercial and college.
So after much research since i have found out the song is virtually mine, I own the rights it has been copyrighted registered with my PRO SOCAN CANADA I can use it anywhere as it is considered fully mine
Anyways, I will keep researching more to ensure I understand in full how and what I have to do
I have hired a graphics art guy for the Cover for the album and will release the song sometime in 2026
Here is the link to the song and lyrics below
Gotta Get A Message
Lyrics by Bryon Tosoff 2010 Music by Me ,was a slow pop rock and now more soul original song was uploaded to suno ai and changed the style
copyright bryon tosoff registered with PRO SOCAN
[Verse 1]
Gotta get a message, gotta get a message
From you to me
I know your mind is broken, you told me
Your heart is crushed, I've seen it
Your spirit smashed and torn
Your soul scattered like dust
[Chorus]
So how do you make someone, someone whole again, my friends?
The answer's simple
Just reach out and share your love
[Verse 2]
Send me a signal from you to me, yeah, yeah
Gotta get a message, can't you see?
Gotta get a message, gotta get a message
From you to me
[Instrumental]
[Chorus]
Send me a signal from you to me, yeah, yeah
Gotta get a message, can't you see?
[Outro]
Gotta get a message, gotta get a message
From you to me
Just call my name and I will be there
Call my name and I will come
Call my name and I will be right there
Be right there
Be right there
Be right there
Be right there
Be right there
Suddenly a signal, suddenly a signal, suddenly a signal, suddenly a signal
Suddenly a signal, gotta get a message
Suddenly a signal
Send me a signal
Send me a signal x

If you treat it like it's just another songwriting tool, you can get a lot done with it fast. Especially if you don't have the real musicians to play with.

Exactly, its like hiring people musicians and a studio to do the job, only you dont spend a fortune. I already recorded this once and the piano part basically is the same the singer sounds great the Bgs are awesome and the percussion is nicely done. it has a bit of bass. only difference is the singer has a better voice and the musicians are top notch. this is the way to go, save a bundle of gold, no hiring why not production is killer

Does Suno create a stereo mix or separate tracks that you can use to create your own mix?

Yes Richard to your question,it doews creat a stereo mix
Suno AI as well now has a built-in "Get Stems" feature (available with paid plans) that separates generated songs into individual audio tracks (vocals, drums, bass, etc.) for remixing or editing, i would say overall suno's own stem feature often provides better quality and control for its generated music
the production quality is amazing, learned from all the songs it has been taught with over the number of years, wide array of styles.
highly recommended for those who have a minimal budget. it is worth looking into
like Larree says its just an additional tool in a songwriters arsenal

I think your song is good. I wish it wasn't an AI rendition.

Thanks Bob, I appreciate this a whole lot, getting this type of acknowledgment from someone who knows how to songcraft, produce and perform and who has a great catalog of songs. This is a real wonderful compliment that I will cherish and savor with heartfelt gratitude

Hey Bryon,
I will get my first thought out of the way and then expand a little. I absolutely hate AI when it comes to writing so called "original " songs. With every fiber of my being I oppose this. I could go on for an hour on this point and still have more to write.
That out of the way, I have changed my mind a bit as to it's possible use when it comes to enhancing arrangements like a producer and session musicians would. If I cut a record with these assets, the songs would still fully be mine, but they were enhanced in ways that could not. I will use an example using my favorite band, The Beatles. They wrote the songs, then Geore Martiin would write arrangements for strings etc. Session musicians would then come in and play them on strings, horn, etc. At the end of the process you may have Eleonor Rigby, Strawberry fields' etc. The Beatles gave their compositions over to Martin and he worked his magic. They either approved of the end result or rejected it. The end result was a Beatles song, with credits to Lennon/McCartney or Harrison. George Martin did not get writing credit.
Now to bring this back to my songs where I do not have Martins or Session Players expertise to rely on. I am open to seeing if Suno could fulfill these roles where I offer prompts and inputs for additional arrangement items or instruments. I would partner with the AI program, but the end result would be mine. I suspect it will get so good to the point I could suggest an arrangement George Martin would favor and get a good result. So, yes I am open to this, however with mixed feelings. I find it problematic that it might put really talented people out of work. People the AI program synthesized and learned from. I can possibly resolve this internal dilemma by realizing I don't have the resources to hire these people, and if they are truly great they will find work
Hope this makes sense, I just can't stand by the idea of Spotify releasing songs fully written and created by AI along with realistic Avatars that look like they stepped out of a Magazine, or Rock Bands that look fully authentic. The next step would be the creation of Holographic images of the fake band performing their computer created songs. This would be absolutely horrible! Songs fully written and performed by AI should be labeled as such so the listening public can make an informed decision as to who they want to support.
Hope everyone is doing well, I've had some setbacks over the last year but I am getting ready to record and post songs this year. Thanks for your support over the years. It has been about 20 years since I posted my first one here.
Kind Regards,
Jeff ( A real flesh and blood human being)

Jeff, welcome back...
Remember your music well, from back in the day...
Well, AI is what it is, and here to stay...
Way back when writers started using type-writers, Kerouac, for example, got hit by a critic with "To type is not to write."
So there's that...
Ho ho ho...

I tried that!
This is what ChatGPT shat out at me
Fuck link won’t work, here:
“ALIEN DUMP ON D.C.”
(by Social Spit)
Flashing lights over the capital dome,
Aliens buzzin’, sayin’ “Yo, we’re home!”
White House trembling, truth gets loud,
They’re painting the sky, then bombing the crowd!
Laser beams, no mercy sign,
Took a dump right on the party line!
ALIEN DUMP ON D.C.!
Yeah, they’re crappin’ on hypocrisy!
ALIEN DUMP ON D.C.!
That’s interstellar anarchy!
Secret Service hides under the chairs,
President’s tweeting in his underwear!
Tourists scream, the guards go blind,
Grey sludge drippin’ on the “Land of the Mind.”
No more lies, no fake decree,
The mothership laughs in 3D!
ALIEN DUMP ON D.C.!
The White House lost its dignity!
ALIEN DUMP ON D.C.!
Cosmic punk democracy!
Yeah, they came from Mars with a boom-box beat,
Played “Blitzkrieg Bop” on repeat.
Didn’t come for peace, didn’t come for war —
Just came to crap on the corridor!
TAKE A DUMP! — On your laws!
TAKE A DUMP! — On your cause!
TAKE A DUMP! — On the crown!
TAKE A DUMP! — Burn it down!
ALIEN DUMP ON D.C.!
Spray paint the stars in mutiny!
ALIEN DUMP ON D.C.!
From the skies of liberty!
Jet trails fade, and the night goes black,
But the stink of truth ain’t never comin’ back.
We asked for a sign, they gave us three —
A middle finger, a laugh, and alien pee!

Hey Jeff! great to see you back here at IMPNATION
I really like your blog a lot, you come across in a way that captures a persons attention and present such fine ideas and insight into the music world and your own style and how you have developed as a song writer. I have always loved your singing and heartfelt vocals, so genuine.
I think you have the right approach and your evaluation of the possibilities of including Ai into your own works I believe would benefit you, of course you have all the skills required to not using it, because your catalog speaks for itself and your quality of songs is amazing
all the best in your upcoming works and glad you are back in the saddle here at IMPNATION.. will watch out for your new works for sure

Yes, Jeff, well written and good perspective there alright...
Gee, cannot help but wonder about how long an "honor" system will last, where commerce is involved, prob'ly billions of dollars, and corporate lobbies & big biz music interests...
Wonder about all that vs. a person's conscience?
