Aspirations
What are your specific artistic goals for this year and beyond? How do you plan to grow your music? What is your musical mission to achieve your personal and professional intentions? Are you optimistic? If you don’t see a path to financial success, can you still be happy making art for art’s sake?

Okay let's get this part out of the way first. I know there's no path to financial success. That idea went around the bend years ago. In fact I just don't think there's even a rock culture anymore to prop anything in that realm up.
My specific artistic plans have to with a bunch of really great songs I wrote, to get them recorded with decent videos as well. My music will grow because I've proven of late I still have maximum chops as a songwriter so I keep cranking out new tunes and they are mostly real good.
Can I be happy making art? Yes, it's the only thing in this world that actually makes me happy. and it's the only way I know how to be, on top of that.

I’m happy making art too! I also know that there is no certain path to success but my bucket list includes getting one hit single before I leave this world. My fantasy is that I can get a cut put on to an album by a signed artist. I don’t care about the notoriety. I just want a few bucks to compensate for the money I’ve blown on this expensive endeavor and to get a little recognition for my songwriting abilities which have really evolved and matured over the years. I’m drifting away from rock music and moving closer to country and folk rock Americana. I want to put as much emotion and philosophical elements into my songs as I can muster. I’ve gone through a lot of stuff in my life, both wonderful and terrible and I want to express all of it in a way that people can relate, feel and think. I’d also like to perform a concert that would be filmed. Whew! I’m getting tired just talking about it! Let me stop dreaming and get back to work.

I’m with you both Richard and Father Time. I make the best music I can for me. No one else. The dream of performing sailed. I ain’t young and I ain’t pretty. Opps there’s a song title….. but id love to hear a tune of ours on the the radio box. Make a dollar rather than 27.50 for 62,000 streams. It’s all expressions these days of a life well lived. Hopefully. Now I hope to pass the torch to my grandson. He’s 9 . Charlie. I hope I’ll not curse him with the dream. Little farts got a voice. And loves music. I’ll leave all my gear to him someday. And the songs. Maybe he’ll do something with them when I’m dust.

Hey Richard, Good Questions. The days of dreams of making a career in music have long gone. My chance was in the late 80’s and 90’s. I never had the courage to 100% commit and sacrifice..The song I am currently working on was written in 1982! It remains the same, I have added a Bridge… otherwise what you will hear “Give Me All Your Love” is unchanged. It was never recorded until now.. I write and record for the joy of the creative process… when writing and recording the outside ceases to exist, all that remains is the music and creative flow. I have not been disciplined, but hope to change that. I am getting the rust off in the recoding process. “ I can be your Stone” recently released was a test to see if I could still do it… I am happy with the results. As I record more, the process will become more efficient and I will get more done. I never stopped writing, and have about 40 good songs waiting! I hope to share them, hopefully they will get heard. I will try my hand at the latest promotional tactics. If any get traction, great… if not I will still be content that I am leaving a legacy. It will hopefully speak to my family years after I have gone. Regards, Jeff

It was never my intention to become a known artist. I always thought i would languish in the unknown but ok categories. It wasn't until Anjuli came along and showed me what was possible. That i realized hold on a minute people like what i do. I can do something with this.
After the 90,s i thought my music career was over i was primarily a live musician a bass player with no interest in being in the lime light. But i was playing in multiple bands to make ends meet. I got sick of it and quit all the bands at once. As i got offered a job working in the oil industry as a driver of a fast rescue craft. As an added bonus i got to see the North Sea at it,s raging best. Most people would be panicking i loved it. That,s just me always been an adrenaline junkie. Very high stress but it,s like being a musician. Some people crumble other people revel in the stress. As for writing a hit song what is a hit song. Depends who you ask?

To aspire to have the privilege of having one more day on this earth each time I wake up and know it is a bonus at my age. Thanks to our Creator who gives us life liberty and opportunities to achieve our dreams.

Those are good aspirations, people.
What I want to do is mix and master my album I’ve had recorded for a while. I learned to mix and master in Studio One doing my son Parker’s album “ The Way I Come Home.” Now I’m directing the new powers at my own album.
If that comes out right, that’ll be achieving what I’m trying for. I love being able to shape the sound with these new tools.
