I Must Have Been a Fool
I really love this song. I think the lyrics are fresh and well written. The artists catagorized this as "Pop" but, I could easily see this as a Country song or a Country crossover. I like the guitar and harmonica work (OK, I admit it, I'm a sucker for the sound of a harmonica) and the whole overall production of the song. Good Stuff!

Special Mention Non-Country Song: My special mention non-Country songs are usually found at the bottom of my page but, this one is WAY too cool to put at the bottom. This song is currently at #199 on the IAC Rock Chart but, I predict that this song will move up quickly. Jen Porter's talent in a word is UNBELIEVABLE. It never ceases to amaze me the tremedous talent found on IAC and Jen Porter is a real gem. I can't stop listening to this song! Give a listen to this punchy/rocking song (love the lead guitar work!). Obviously, I can't say enough... believe me, don't miss this one.

LOVE this pick by Maria Daines. On this song her voice reminds me a tad of a young Kim Carnes. Maria's voice has that distinctive quality that makes her stand apart from the everyday - WOW is all I can say! This is a great rocking tune and the guitar work is top notch. Too cool!

Currently #8 on the IAC Country Chart. This song is the kind that catches you instantly and then you can't get it out of your head. Listen for Trisha Yearwood doing backgroud vocals. Hey, if the immensely talented Trisha Yearwood endorses Kevin Montgomery, you know he has real talent! Check out the video for this song on Kevin's web site (kevinmontgomery.com) or catch it on CMT's Wide Open Country. The video reminds me a little of Radney Foster's "Just Call Me Lonesome"

This song has been following "I Must Have Been a Fool" steadily up the IAC Pop Chart. Currently "I Must Have Been a Fool" and "Maybe It's Just Not You" are 2 and 4 respectively, on the IAC Pop Chart. Again, like "Fool" above, I could see this as a Country song or crossover. This song is a heartfelt ballad that is about the love you want and miss from the person you want it from most.

Wow! Louie Ehrlich as a great voice for delivering County music. This particular song really struck me and pulled me in on the first listen. Louie displays great vocal range on this song that is impressive. I would characterize this song as Traditional County.

I think Kathy Hughes has a great voice. This particular ballad is currently #112 on the IAC Country Chart. The message in this ballad reminds me of the song "Wind Beneath My Wings." Like that song, I like the story/message told in this ballad. Hope you like this pick too.

Reminiscent of Alan Jackson’s “I Don’t Even Know Your Name.” This is a honky tonkin' drinking song with traditional sounding Country vocals. I really like Country songs with a sense of humor poking fun at the stupid things we sometimes do. I also love the hook ‘cause lord knows that, on occasion, I too have tied one on just a little too tight!

Special Mention Non-Country Song: My station wouldn't be complete without an original pick done by my husband - Allen Rodgers. The vocal you hear is the scratch track he put down when he initially went in to the studio. He never got back in the studio to re-do the vocals once the production of the song was finished - so, I think his vocal performance could have been better on the final product, but none the less, I like the lyrics and the guitar work on this song. Whenever Allen performed this song live in clubs this always seemed to be a crowd favorite. Hope you like it too.

Special Mention Non-Country Song: Currently in the top 50 on the Alternative Pop/Rock IAC Chart. I like the Beatle-ish sound of this track off the "Bridge" CD. This song is being sung by Oliver Moore and I really like the quality of Oliver's voice. My only complaint about Oliver's singing is that at times the words he's singing are hard to follow (my personal pet peeve) but, the lyrics are posted if you are interested and want to read them. Have a listen, maybe you'll like it too.
