My Love for Reggae Music
Silvanus; born Delroy Roberts in the Parish of St. Thomas on the Island of Jamaica. Growing up in Jamaica in the 1970's was a pivotal time in world events. As a little youth at the time it was a bit difficult to put every thing into perspective. Reggae Music and the message of the Rasta man help to simplified things for me. With such Artists like Mighty Diamonds,
Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, Ras Michael and the sons of Negus, Culture and numerous other Artists help to plant the seed of Music in me.
I would be lying in my Bed at Nights listening to the Sound Systems pumping some tough Tunes; it was very hard to sleep. I started to visit these Dancehalls, even before my Parent's consented. I would be listening to all the top DJs of the time, Live! . Djs like Brigadier Jerry, Hugh Brown, Ranking Trevor, Nekodemus, Lone Ranger, Johnny Ringo and others. It was then I knew I would be one of them. I started to create some Lyrics my brethren Bunny Isachaar and I. We would be in School singing for our friends and they loved it.
I migrated to Canada in 1979 and reside in the City of Montreal.
At time the Reggae community in Montreal was very young .Jah Cutta was one of the few Artist in Montreal doing his thing. Instantly I see the gap and coming from Jamaica fresh, with the experience of observing the best Entertainers at work. Its there Silvanus was born. At first I was called Silverado for while until I choose the name Silvanus which means "one who loved the Forest" I was a prevalent fixture in the Dancehalls and Stage Shows around the City of Montreal then it extended to other parts of the Country aswel as the USA.
In 1990, I took some time off the Music seen and went back to School. I completed High School and went on to Study
Electro Mechanics and Automated Systems. This took approximately Five Years .I completed everything and graduated.
During this time my Record Label "Silver-globe Records" was already registered .I was in the process of producing my first CD when I put it on pause to produce "I've got a Joy" by
Mounia Sahara That CD have grace many Charts, it is still available in many Record Shops around the world .It is distributed in the USA by Ernie B's www.ebreggae.com and through www.cdbaby.com/sahara
. We have also produced a track with
Admiral Tibet titled "Why should I run" still available on 7" Vinyl. Silver-globe Records also have unreleased material with Fred Locks.
"Talk to Jah" by Silvanus is our latest project .It is a 16 tracks CD that is giving Silvanus and Silver-globe Records some National and International recognition .It is receiving regular rotation on many Radio Stations in Canada, USA, The Philippines, Germany, Poland, Italy, Portugal, France, England and many other European Countries. The feed back on the Streets of Montreal is overwhelming.
Reggae Connection Radio Show selected it in Belgium as Album of the Month of May 2007.
Track 6 "Strumming my Guitar" is presently 2 on the Canada Top Ten Spin. "Talk to Jah" is getting excellent Reviews in many different Languages in Spanish, French and Italian and English aswel. It is been distributed in the USA by www.ebreggae.com and by www.cdbaby.com/cd/silvanus

Upcoming projects; Silver-globe Records will be putting together a Compilation CD with tracks from both Canadian and Jamaican Artists and .We have at least Seven Tracks for Silvanus's second CD all mixed and ready. With a few more tracks to be Recorded, Silvanus's second CD will be coming at you.

I'm pretty deep in reggae. The last CD was not as packed with it as I usually do.
I like old reggae. Marley, Tosh, Bunny, Rockers soundtrack is a big influence, Lynton Quasi Johnson, I saw Ras Michaels a couple times, Toots, Burning Spear, Yellowman...
I don't care for much modern reggae because it is mechanized, and I don't go for much mechanized.
I also feel most bands say 'Babylon' 2000 times as though that is all it takes to find the soul, but it isn't.
Really like Sublime.
You have nice voices in your band. Like the percussion on the second track. Like the lead guitar.
