Good post Ken, yeah, tough slog out there, my whole thing, is this, no expectations , no disappointments, for me it is, you have to Believe in yourself. do what you can. be the best you can, luck is in your hands, but you have to work hard getting there, some times it just a hard go, but you have to keep planting those potatoes,someday one might be a success, but what is success, really, for me, it is improving myself as a person, and developing ones own music, and just be you, not imitating anyone else or trying to measure up to what others have done, just keep chipping away, working your chops, improving ones songcrafting at least, I believe in myself and i think over the time here, IMP/ IAC was a place where I cut my teeth so to speak, I am thankful for the time I have spent here, it is a good place , lots a awesome artists, I have listened to thousands of them here, and learned , learned a whole lot, and I have grown a lot in the music aspect and put out some decent works, and not only acknowledged here but on radio. lucky, maybe, but still worked to build my catalog, and learned the ropes, and about the business of music and during the course of time built relationships with fellow musicians here elsewhere and continue to work on songs with them and doing my own thing, its art, nothing more, enjoy the ride. love what you do do what you love. have fun
