Introducing...............Larry Campbell
Universal Perspective to Music Composition
My personal preference is & has always been predominantly fusion or jazz even in the classic years of the 80's, 90's & to date, with primary influences being the Rippingtons, Larry Carlton, Crusaders, Yellow Jackets, Steely Dan, Eric Johnson, George Benson, Alan Holdsworth, Steve Morse, Pat Martino, Frank Gambale!
Though Rock & roll has been a major influence in my personal style, it's never been my primary focus. Ive always favored jazz, fusion, or progressive rock, hinging mainly on the melodic nature of the compositions.
As for music in general, all genres have advanced since the 80's, some in a positive direction & some not so positive. Its all about change. For my personal taste, if music advances to the point its only technique & has lost its melodic structure, its only status quo, wait a while & there will be a new technique. Understand, no slam on technique players, those players like Eddy Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Alan Holdsworth, Vinnie Moore, & the list goes on & on., deserve all the credit they can get.
A final word, though all of these greats have made major contributions to my personal style, "I choose not to rely on any ones licks or songs to immitate. My perspective will always be predominantly music theory, modes, intervals, arpeggios, diatonic chord scales, etc. By using these as my reference, I can structure my chord progressions & melodies from a mathematical standpoint."

I had an Ibanez Iceman for about 7 years... I traded it for a LP Jr, and then somehow I ended up with a Kramer ST-100 that was similar to that Ibanez of yours.
I had that Hamer USA Diablo, bought it new in 1997, when it was a model still being made in USA.
I had it until 2003 when I traded it in with another LP Jr for my Flying V, and I've had that 7 years
