"Thought maybe I'd write no more songs
Still it's hard to stop the pen
It just follows the lines and keeps right on going
Until it gets to the end"
The next song to be released soon ...

Tons of ideas and instrument tracks down waiting to be developed, but the ambition to actually get down to business and realize them is MIA. I am my own worst enemy.

I recently posted a new song that I put a lot of energy into. It's an instrumental called
NO STONES UNTURNED
I put a lot time an effort into crafting it and mixing in an attempt to hold a listener's interest from start to finish. I hope I succeeded!

Yep,
Always gotta squeeze those ideas outa my head and put them on tracks. Otherwise they'll be lost in the "damn how did that go again file".

Just got to spend 2 days making music with the ever-amazing Bob Elliott. One of his sons is exploring country music with his very sonorous baritone voice. He's as thin as a rail - don't know where that depth comes from. Sure is a nice voice. Bob and I did some tracks for him on the Tom T. Hall song, "Memphis." It's always a blast to play with Bob. We'd kind of gotten away from our two acoustic guitars playing together, but we sure made some nice music doing just that.
Also had a session with guys from my 90s band, the Trouts, attempting to play some of my more recent songs, which, it turns out, are more difficult to play than our 90s material. I hope it doesn't sound difficult. We were in an actual garage. Hard core.
I wrote a song about a month ago called, "Glad We Came." I've really been enjoying playing it, and people seem to like it, but I've been purposely trying not to arrange it beyond the acoustic guitar and vocal so I can get input from Bob and a great bassist friend named Jay. I'd like to hear their spin on it. I miss the chemistry that happens when you get the band involved. Sometimes I get tired of making all the decisions about how to arrange, perform, and record a song - I'm never surprised at the end product the way you can be when other people are doing things that you're hardly aware of.

The last 3 songs i released were The earth moved strangely an ambient type song. Then head banging the world which is a Stereolab inspired song. And Attuneveter which was a long term project took a couple of years this one. On and off though. Mainly trying to combine multiple music styles into one song
I think however my most interesting song this year is The lost mass. Because of it,s interesting melody structure. It is very movie oriented. But this last 18 months has been like a movie.
