Which of your tracks are radio-air-worthy?
Please pick one and post a link.
(None of mine that I have uploaded are, so I'm not seeking self-agrandizement or praise, just interested to know what you guys consider air-worthy).
(Also, I shall not use this to tell you, "no, that crap isn't airworthy", so don't be sceered) :)
The criteria is, "by mainstream radio standards" whatever you think that is.

'Mainstream' is a grey area - and I don't know about being radio-worthy - but this one always gets my toes tapping. :)

The edit function seems not to be working. Here's a clickable link.

The above was wrong.
Another attempt. Sigh…

For what it's worth, occasionally the edit function on the pipeline itself doesn't work, but if you use the one directly from your artist area page, that one usually works.

So… mastered properly and recorded properly and mixed properly and, of course a good song at the heart of it all.
AND fitting in with (some sort of) mainstream radio formatting?
Maybe this one:
"Come On, Let's Go"
But, that's just as much a product of some of my other songs not being mastered yet, as it is of me thinking that the song is among my best, and would fit in to rotation at an AOR-type station like WXRT here in Chicago.
Once they get mastered, I think that a couple of my newer songs would qualify, as well. Definitely.

I think this would sound good on the radio, it's clear and well mixed and I think the happy Poppy sound and cheeky lyrics might appeal to you Danny Boy :)
Man On Top
Oddly enough no-one's ever shown the slightest interest in it, they don't know what they're missing in my oppinion - Jillyx

I think you would be surprised what gets on radio, terrestrial, am fm satellite cable and our own internet radio stations, if I posted what I have released to radio you go, are you kidding me, so wont. I have been there done that as many here already have as well. The key is connecting with djs, music directors, building a relationship and maintaining it. That gets you in the door, then being considerate, not pushy but letting them know of your releases or in my case those i promote. of course it has everything to do of standards of excellence. the quality of music the kind of music and last and most important, the music directors personal take the time allotted to fit into the programming and if it is commercial,. how much time will this song take up, because it is all about the money from advertising ,jingles, not so much the songs

Getting on with Music Supervisors to place your songs
I know a number of artists here and in my roster who are in with Music Supervisors who have their music on jingles. soundtracks for movies or shorts and knowledge network and Hallmark TV shows. so in reality, that might be something to consider. probably a better shot at getting in there then radio.

I'm back. Those are all air-worthy tunes, each in his own way.
Thanks for all of them for my sincere listening pleasure.

Since I admired the honoesty and not many people stepped up on this thread.
I created a station called "radio ready" and added the songs in this thread to the station.
None of my songs are radio worthy

Actually, you know, it's easier if I say which aren't. None of 'em.
But I'm always most interested in promoting the ones we just did, so
go find them, and play them on the air, if we're talkin' radio fantasy here.
Bsex just did the one about Ted Cruz bein' a douche.
And ALJ has a very hauntingly sad yet brilliant one,
both more than radio ready, they'd take over if they were played once.
But no one plays 'em even once. It's all this whatever they call that, instead.
But I had to just go and answer anyway,
if anyone finds one of our tracks which is not radio worthy,
for the love of God kindly alert me or the band immediately,
we'll remove the goddamned thing straightaway.
I only want the good stuff up at this point. Too old for anything else.

Most of mine are not, but about maybe 30 plus are out there on radio, 6 years later I still have songs from an album getting spins. and some jazz vibe songs, mostly instrumentals, a few songs I sing on and a few blues tunes, on terrestrial radio , even got some on Netflix apparently, so says my royalty cheque, i take what I can. I know a lot of artists here have songs happening on radio, I know many are artists I have promoted, so know first hand on that part of it. very gratifying to see people succeed and get accepted by djs and music directors.spins on College radio as well. but the best place to make money is if you can get something on a movie soundtrack. or jingle. I know one friend who gets about 15000 every quarter, does a lot of movie work music wise

ALJ,
I am guessing the song you are talking about is the girl who's never home?
The rest of the artists said what the songs were. Yes we know you think they all are worthy my station not going to be all ALJ and beetlesex songs
so if you want one added tell me which one.
sorry I am not adding Ted Cruz douche song that is just vile even if it might be accurate I have to draw the line somewhere.
TSC,
Ken

Always valuable to get info based on what you personally know Bryon. Other people have theories, but you always speak from actual experience. I learn something every time. Thanks :)
