Be Ready when it comes
For about 35 years straight I have been sending demo's to a certain mainstream company with hopes that they might sign one of my songs. For 35 years I have been receiving rejection letters from them. So, when I sent off my annual demo blitz this summer I assumed that all would be the same as previous years. This year, instead of sending off Pop and R&B demo's I sent out Jazz demos. I was really shocked yesterday when I received word that one of my Jazz songs had been picked to be signed and used in professional sports programming on TV. So. I promptly sent them the ISRC code for the song with all of my publishing details, performance rights prg etc. I never expected that in the middle of a pandemic a song that I wrote and produced 15 years ago would be signed and slated for airing. I am not going to say which song it is because I don't want to jinx the whole thing. But right now this songwriter is very excited. Just goes to show you that persistence and faith will pay off in time. So, be prepared to make the leap if your name gets called.
