Are you waiting for all the leaves to die
or just stopping to watch another century go by
I'm tired of waiting for the change of season
The second hand is quicker than this lie
If you think that you need some reason
I'm afraid you just won't qualify
You know the truth is glowing in your hand
but you still live in that neverneverland
Cash in your kingdom, buy a one way ticket
Let em shove their knowledge in the sand
If you care then you can lick it
It could cost more than you had planned
Can't Wait
You know that I can't wait
Finally it is the time to get away
Simple sentiments are easier to say
Brighter colors in the sun
and the sky is clearer day to day
A pair of aces on the run
and we waited all too long to play

Holy fuck, that's a good one. As soon as the drums and guitar kicked in I knew we were in for something great. Possibly my favourite song from you guys. That bridge is phenomenal. Made me think of The Flaming Lips with the ethereal harmonies.

This is one of NT’s best but there are so many
songs by this band worthy of that description
that’s it’s hard to say. The video is gorgeous and
really fits the lyrics of the song which are also brilliant. The whole project on every level is a major artistic accomplishment. Bravo, guys!

Personally, I think "The Grand Delusion" might be a better title for this song. It borrows well from the past like just about everything offered seems to do. And reading between the lines, the same worn out political odors seems to emanate from these latest droppings which is no surprise.
But still I'll give it 3.5 stars, not a bad effort.

thanks for checking it out.
Gregg, I wrote this song in 1983, any political overtones you're reading into it are on you, not me.

Well since much of your content is very edgy politically it seemed this was a very clever attempt at the same but I stand corrected.
It's a good song Scott.., actually it's a great song.
4.8 stars.

I feel this is the most powerful work I’ve listened to in the past ten years! The vocal is so spot on for this style. Better than great! Strong song, strong structure, and a deep message. You nailed this one FT
Best,
Bruce

I'm listening to this daily. Seriously, that harmonized bridge is impressive.
