Hello there Richard! What a night this has been! All of my nominations for the "BIG 3" came away as the winners! WHITHERWARD for BEST BAND, FRANCESCA for BEST FEMALE ARTIST, and you for BEST MALE ARTIST! You are so deserving and I could not be more thrilled how things unfolded! I also nominated you for your win for WATER FROM A STONE in the CLASSIC AND PROGRESSIVE ROCK category. What thrills me about that, is that since I was a teen, that was always my favorite music genre. You probably know that THE MOODY BLUES finally made the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and will be inducted this spring. So sad that Ray Thomas died just 11 days ago, but happy he knew they finally made it. But this night belongs to you and the IMP artists! Early on you became one of my faves, not just because of your songs, but because of how kind and supportive you were to me and my station, i.e. your Pipeline post about it. 7 of my station artists won 15 of 16 GK's for which I nominated them, and 19 of the 26 overall. That blows my mind and makes me so happy! I need to start a new station and have several of your incredible songs in it. God bless you sir, and continued success to you! Mike

Hi Mate (Richard)
Kind of you to add Epitaph to your station, it was written for my Mother in Law when she was passingBut there are no vocals just a Maton Concert steel string classical guitar an Ebo and Bass (Fender Fretless) and a few effects. I am healing well and hope to be around for a while yet. Best of wishes to your family from mine (still love "Silverwood" btw.)
Thanks again

War No More........really well done song Richard. Anything anybody can do to bring our troops home from a place that does not embrace or request our help is a good thing.
Being a Vietnam vet myself, i was outraged from the start when george w invaded Iraq and turned our respected and proud country into the neighborhood bully in the world's eyes. IMHO, he will go down in history as the worst president of all time. Bravo to you for standing up and advocating for peaceful solutions in a very well done musical fashion.

Richard, thanks for the suggestions... I ended up going in a different direction with AT CLOSE RANGE... up, feel good song and like the vocals. Wish I had a way to adjust volumes on tunes though... this one's pretty hot and jumps out of the speakers if next to a quieter mix... and with the harmonica/fiddle combo... its a bright one. Good tune Richard!

Thanks Richard, I just put the pieces together for them, the whole page is all theirs. Jim Jr did so much engineering work for me between BBE and Drummer Boy, I'm just paying back the favor. Maybe Someday plays the local circuit here and has an impressive following. Jim jr also plays with Jim Sr (one of my bandmates from the last trio I was in) in another band. Lots of talent in that family.
I'll definitely vote for you, I've had Brother John on my radio station forevaaa, even if it is my competitor on the Classic Rock chart ;) Congrats on the #1 spot!!

New singers?? naw-
These are good ideas you raise Richard, but if people are REALLY diggin' your music AS IS. Which clearly they are, don't try and upset the apple cart!
Man, I would LOVE to do singing on one of your tunes, but I'm not sure that's what you've offered.
It would be rather cool to be covered, though!
Thanks fer stoppin' by. I'll drop a similar note on yer page.

Thank you Richard so much for that. Rob Zero our Keyboard player, is a professional composer and musician. So at his home, he has a very nice home studio set up for his work. He engineered the song. I wrote it, Greta and I produced it. Greta is a natural born producer and we bang heads on many points during the process of mixing, but this song went as smooth as silk as far agreeing on the sound, and direction. When I first introduced the song to the band I said, I hear a harmonica being played in this spot, Greta never played a harmonica, picked one up and put that part in. "Natural"
I'm not a tech, so I'm not the guy to ask such question about process. But when recording my Guitar we went direct into the board and mic'd the sound hole, and the fret board all at once. And I did record my part to the drum and bass track.
By the way The John Lennon song comp. is impressive I submitted, But no no no and it didn't draw flies.
cheers my friend!

Hi My Friend Richard-!!
So much to learn -So little time ha ha -lol
My wife has made the same observation-we tend to think everyone knows how these little "players" operate-
eitherfind the embedded player ( near the top of site) and turn it off by clicking the black square
then play the individual track from the page-
or-find the player, and click a different song title-to the one currently playing
did I say thanks for visiting?
Thanks Mate!!

Richard,
Thanks for your kind words about "Used to Be Cool in High School." It's funny, I had the music for that for awhile and fiddled with potential lyrics for over a year. I kept coming back around to it but never was satisfied with the topics and associated lyrics that I came up with. Suddenly one day the topic struck me, I knew it would fit with the tune, and I had written the lyrics in less than an hour. That's when it became a keeper for me. Texas Rendezvous Cafe is a cool tune and I say you should go for it and write some lyrics!! And I did, in fact, listen to the wild fiddle solo at the end!!
Take care, -JP

It's going very well Scotti, thanks for asking. Bruce Elrod and Mike Peace are really nice and willing to help us out in any way possible. They have a booking agency, Song Hookers, that has been in the music business for over 30 years and has worked with yesterdays & todays hottest artists (Smokey Robinson, Dean Martin, Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera and NeYo to name a few). They book shows, radio & tv for Cashbox artists as well. One of Cashbox's artists, The Lemmings who is on IAC as well, are from South Africa and had been booked for a US tour starting in September: Austin for all of September, plus a tv performance; California (working on getting a performance on Late Night With Jay Leno), and the last I heard possibly some shows in Vegas. They have their albums in Wal-Mart (Bruce is working on an exclusive Cashbox label promo deal with them) and a possible promo deal with Best Buy. Cashbox Records is no joke Scotti. We are getting songs together for an album in the late Fall/Winter. Bruce is planning on us doing a college circuit tour all over the US, plus some festivals for next year. Shows 25 days a month is the current plan (clubs, colleges, venues). If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm sorry that I am replying so late to your question. Been HELLA busy!!!

Goin Higher is a good tune and really should get more attention. I am always interested in what draws people to particular songs of mine. Whether it is the title or the order in which it appears on the page who knows? But I am always glad when someone picks out tunes of mine that are less familiar or popular. Keep 'em coming Richard.

Your Dylanesque tunes are great. I am a big fan of Bob and I have to say Mr. Holmes really nailed those vocals! Peace to you, -JP
