Almost everything has this stealth distortion that usually isn't audible but gradually makes the listeners' ears hurt. This happens when someone cranks the gain during finalizing their tracks. I'm not critiquing; it's just that more people would listen to your stuff longer if it didn't hurt their ears.

You can add clicks to the tracks at the beginning so that they line up. Fred is Fred E Jam of FJam on line collaboration studios who produced most of DirgeK's music. Then you could send me your vocal track so Fred could mix it properly and add lead etc. I would love to hear you singing together ! J :-)

Thanks for bein' a cool friend, and please don't take my opinion so much to heart you're a successful song writer/musician and studio engineer, and I'm still pretty much a wannabe hard-workin' schmuck, so again don't take too much stock in MY opinion. The Bob Dylan flavoring really does work for that song, on a couple of levels if that's what you were goin' for, and people dig it. So who cares what pHLeGm or even Choosy Susie sez, right? ROck on man, I'd love it if a Richard/phlegm collab or cover collab were a possibility in the future!
Richard Scotti	12/20/2008 8:41:52 AM Phlegm -I just wanted you to know that I appreciate the truth and you had the guts to tell me the truth. That proves you're a real friend because you've indicated many times that you repect me and my music and yet you were able to kick my ass hard enough for me to get the message that writing a song where the singer is singing exactly like Dylan is not a good way to showcase my talents. Yes, many people love that kind of stuff especially Dylan fans but I don't need to resort to that to get listeners. I have friends who make a living sounding like famous artists but I'm an original and have my own sound. I don't intend to change all my singers but every year I make major changes in order to keep things fresh and I do have some incredible new singers that I have tried out. They're young and hungry to make some ballsy vocals, really diamonds in the rough. I'll always use my regular guys but I've got to rotate people now for the sake of keeping things new and different, and more alternative, less "perfect". And yes I'm saying that you can cover ANY song of mine ANY way you want and I would like to cover a song of yours as well. I thought it was funny and totally unexpected that Susie added Borrowed Time to her station! That's what I like about this place. Ya never know what's gonna happen next! As for me, no more tribute songs. I've learned my lesson. I still don't think my song was "bland" but the the choice of singer was a big mistake. I think the same song done by a different singer would make it a much better song and not sound like Dylan. Maybe I should use the guy that sang my song that you like called Where Do Lost Dreams Go? Thanks for the honesty. It hurt a lot coming from a friend, but only a friend can tell ya stuff like that. I'm certainly not plagarizing the actual music of Dylan or any other artist. And I only have 2 or 3 tribute type songs out of 30 songs. I know how to write an original song and I think that my work apeaks for itself in that regard. I pride myself on my originality. I just have to be more careful about choice of singers. Your review was helped me see the light and I appreciate it. If time and money permits I may change the singer on Borrowed Time because many people think it's a great song. I plan to do a cover of one of your songs someday and you're free to do one of mine. (in ANY style you want!) If anything, the singing on Borrowed Time was bland not the music or the words which I think are quite poignant and were inspired by Kurt Cobain's death. Keep doin' that thang you do, and I'll keep tryin' to work it HERE, and on MYSPACE, PunkRockers.com, PUREVOLUME, ISOUND and many other self-promo sites...including getting going on that LASTFM you mentioned. Not to mention continuing to practice with the Band, Solo, and in a myriad of Side projects, with our number of shows growin' month to month. We got LOADS of new & old material that hasn't seen the light of day anywhere yet, and are moving forward, letting that which bubbles to the surface direct our next steps on material. It's a little tough, as all the musicians know that we plan to move to England in 2010, but I just KNOW, if they don't go with us (most likely Not), we'll have no problem moving forward with musicians from the English community. I know it's going to be a challenging, and ardous road, peppered with TONS o' fun along the way. YEAHHHHHHAARRRRGGHHH@@@!!! ROCK.

I can't bring in new people into a system that needed an upgrade. The upgrade is almost complete and the system should be functional by January of 2009. I definitely am interested in doing a new version of "Used to Be Cool...", but the last I remember we left it was we were going to try to get someone from IAC to help lay down guitar and drums. I am not sure I can pull off the kind of rockabilly song you're talking about in terms of the music part that would do justice to your vocal ability. We need some pros (i.e., not me!). I have one guy that could easily pull it off but his schedule is crazy and I am not sure how long it would take. If he does the music it would definitely be great but it may take some time. I can ask him... unless you have people in mind. As I said before, I would really be honored to have you cover the song. I am a big fan of your work and think you guys should be making it big (I mean that honestly). -JP

My keyboard player is excellent and will fill in for now on the keys - he's imaginative and we do some of his songs as well so he's well committed. The other guy (the bass) has let me down three times now so he's out - no way back - I can't be doing with him letting me down at the last minute. I've learnt a lot from this - I like your idea and I know a lot of musicians in Bristol so I may do some more jamming with them and see what happens! Thanks! Great tracks!

The vocals are way cool ala Jim Morrison, The retro thing is in full swing but it's very modern too ala Alice In Chains, Nine Inch Nails and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
