Where are they now? Artists who seem to have dropped off IAC, to our cost (I look forward to sticking *(found)* by their names as/when/if they reappear), and strongly suggest you look you their pages: The Rubrics; Our Mutual Friends; Stagger Lee; Naal Ottsun; David Hosking; Esther Grondahl; John Kerruish; Gina French; The Living Dolls; Peter Adams; Jarrett Fenlon; David Heleniak; Josh Backwell; and the incomparable trio: Ray Porter, Jillianne and Gilly Slinn *(found, now Gilly Harrison)*, each selfless in helping IAC-ers to get their music out there. And not forgetting Ash Ferry and Hugh Hamilton *(found)*, collaborators supreme

IAC gems
The plan: I'm going to work through my old Serendipity stations, deleting as I go, but revisiting original artists who blew me away back then (one track per artist, or I'll be here until Doomsday). Once that's done,I'll use the 'hit IAC randomly and see what turns up' method that introduced me to so many hidden treasures and thus, I hope, to other IAC-ers. (But that might be some time in the future.) Please look out for serendipity redux sister/continuation stations, if you are liking what you hear. There's so much more to come, trust me...

I Know A Good Thing
I am so happy to see the boy is still there... He says 'Bacharach', I say 'Pentangle'. (See you in the playground after school.) Impeccable guitar work, swoony transpositions, music to get horizonal to. added to station 7/3/2012 6:19:32 AM

Everything You Said
If Rumours-era Fletwood Mac had been able to put a decent lyric together, they might have done something as good as this. Listen for the lovely sour notes in the guitar solo, that is, the 'wrong' note that barbershop quartets use to perk up your interest added to station 7/3/2012 6:28:48 AM

More Precious than Gold !!!
The Musicators burn their way across the sky, scorching everything in their path... They've got a phaser, look out, they're not afraid to use it... feedback... plinky-plonk keyboard... Required listening for anyone who says 'Should we form a band?' Inspirational genius noise. Now I'm going to take my medication like a good boy, and lie down for a bit added to station 7/3/2012 6:37:30 AM

The Rubrics
Loving Paradox (remix)
Q. What does a banjo have in common with a hand grenade? A. By the time you've heard it, it's too late... Please, dear Rubrics, come back, brilliant lyrics, and you made me listen to a atyle of music that previously I'd have run miles to avoid. This is something to study if you think that a song has to have B-flat minor 13ths and A-sharp minor 9ths to qualify as 'musical' added to station 7/3/2012 6:55:07 AM

Let Your Love Surround Me
Declaration of interest: I know this mob, and have jammed with them. They're on here because what comes across is their exuberant love of music; weirdly, their song As I Hold You, a very different beast to this one, doesn't come up on their site, but plays anyway. Come on, you can spare three minutes of your life to try something diferent added to station 7/3/2012 7:10:57 AM

Words to Live By
This was the song I posted on the very first Serendipity, and make no apologies for doing so again - summer in a box, and its occasional slips just add to its charm, for me anyway added to station 7/3/2012 7:27:02 AM

Mama did tell me not to come... Tight as something that rhymes (non-UK readers, ask a friend from these islands), here's a band in whose company you'd just want to drink too much beer added to station 7/3/2012 7:44:29 AM

You think: okay, I can play guitar a bit, my songs aren't that bad... and then this beggar turns up. Where is he now, and why are James Blunt and David Gray making fortunes whilst this far superior talent seems to have gone off radar? added to station 7/3/2012 8:09:49 AM

This isn't my favourite song of hers - that would probably be 'Child of War', but hey, I'm fickle. What is does do, though, is show off that voice, no post-production tweaks, what you hear is what you get added to station 7/3/2012 8:53:43 AM

Rough as a bargain box of rough things bought from World of Rough in Roughsville, Kentucky, in their 'It's Rough Week!!!'promotion. But I still think I might find it hard to love anyone who didn't see its inherent genius. It's not easy to pick just one of Steve's songs, as they cover such a range of styles; so perhaps this one chose itself because a) I'm possibly an unreconstructed folkie at heart, and b) it's July 4th. Oh, and I've been listening to Neil Young recently added to station 7/4/2012 10:08:29 AM
